Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard

For sensitive matters, you may contact an individual bureaucrat directly by e-mail.
The Bureaucrats' noticeboard is a place where items related to the Bureaucrats can be discussed and coordinated. Any user is welcome to leave a message or join the discussion here. Please start a new section for each topic.
This is not a forum for grievances. It is a specific noticeboard addressing Bureaucrat-related issues. If you want to know more about an action by a particular bureaucrat, you should first raise the matter with them on their talk page. Please stay on topic, remain civil, and remember to assume good faith. Take extraneous comments or threads to relevant talk pages.
If you are here to report that an RFA or an RFB is "overdue" or "expired", please wait at least 12 hours from the scheduled end time before making a post here about it. There are a fair number of active bureaucrats; and an eye is being kept on the time remaining on these discussions. Thank you for your patience.

Reredesysop request (Tamzin)
[edit]- Tamzin (t · th · c · del · cross-wiki · SUL · edit counter · pages created (xtools · sigma) · non-automated edits · BLP edits · undos · manual reverts · rollbacks · logs (blocks · rights · moves) · rfar · spi · cci)
Well, my first and second desysops were for sad reasons, but this one's actually for something exciting! For the past few years I've had the privilege of getting to coördinate the reëntry of the former Toki Pona Wikipedia back onto Wikimedia servers. We are finally in the home stretch for that, slated to deploy on the 26th. (If this is a bluelink, it's happened!)
That wiki will have a lot of decisions to make in its first months as it likely receives a significant influx of editors, and as one of the only admins there I'd like to be able to give it my undivided attention for at least a few months—or at least divided only with enwiki content work, which I've been slacking on. I considered putting a big "admin-cation" template up on my usertalk, but I'm increasingly drawn to the Dennis Brown school of (re|de)sysops: People should be able to trust that, if I'm currently an admin, they can come to me for help with admin things. So, back in... three months, probably?
I may stick around to do some amount of content or technical work, so I'd like to retain autopatrolled (which I was granted while an admin), and to regain the rights I had pre-RfA, except that I won't need EFH (I have it globally; this also means I don't need TAIV). Thanks as always to the 'crat team for helping me stay competitive on the leaderboard. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|🤷) 18:52, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
- Oh sorry, I'd also appreciate IP-block-exempt, which I already have globally but is necessary for local blocks. I sometimes travel through countries where it is not safe to use the Internet without a proxy. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|🤷) 18:55, 19 November 2025 (UTC)

- Tamzin: Flattered to be mentioned. Yes, for me, if I'm not going to be active for 3 months or only in insecure places, removing the bit is the way to go. I'm still traveling around the Philippines, just RORO'ed to Luzon last month, with my (secure) Starlink dish zip-tied to a plastic table on a tiny condo balcony. Amazed it works. Hope to see you back after your break. Dennis Brown - 2¢ 01:03, 20 November 2025 (UTC)
resysop (Valereee)
[edit]Well, the IRL hasn't resolved, but I've increasingly found myself in situations where I could just fix something, and I can't. I'd like to pick up the tools again because that's very frustrating.
On a side note, this is the second time I've downed tools and picked them back up again, and both times it's confirmed my feeling that tools should be given to all trusted experienced editors. Valereee (talk) 01:25, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
- Standard 24 hour wait, but I am not seeing any issues (removal request). Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 01:30, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
