Oh brother. Never, ever, ever rely on an outdoor siren to receive a tornado warning.
— James Spann, 2024 post on Twitter

If it isn't obvious based solely on my name, I mainly edit topics related to severe weather. This includes tornadoes, flooding, and other catastrophic natural disasters. Other topics that I will periodically edit in are politics of the United States, crime and health. I joined in November 2020 before taking a several-year break until February 2024, when I truly began editing.
Outside of Wikipedia, I enjoy hiking and delta/hill country blues music. Mammoth Cave National Park and the Mississippi Blues Trail are the two biggest bucket-list things of mine at the moment; I visited the former a long while ago but would love to spend more time there. I am in the United States Civil Air Patrol, where I have gone through Community Emergency Response Team training and a few other certifications.
I am autistic, which explains my generally intense interest for weather and other behavioral quirks. Weather being a "restricted interest" is actually a well-known thing; several studies (my favorite being a March 2020 "Bolton et. al." study by the AMS) have documented and tried to explain why people with autism tend to have an interest in weather.[1][2][3][4]
PNS NOUS43 on October 6, 2025 (today!) saw the first EF5 tornado worldwide since 2013.

ClaudineChionh has given you a kitten! Kittens promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. Your kitten must be fed three times a day and will be your faithful companion forever! Spread the WikiLove by giving someone else a kitten, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Spread the goodness of kittens by adding {{subst:Kitten}} to someone's talk page with a friendly message, or kittynap their kitten with {{subst:Kittynap}}. Hey, I don't remember if we've interacted directly here on on Discord, but I was sad to see that you're feeling discouraged. I've been impressed with your efforts on those lists of artworks. I think it's natural for interest in Wikipedia to ebb and flow, as it would with any hobby; I mean, I kind of took a wikibreak for over a decade! (And another one for around a year.) I do hope you'll be feeling enthusiastic again soon!
