Edit Proposal: Removal of Victor Klemperer paragraph

[edit]

The Paragraph in the article is not supported by the sources given — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:F3:173A:378A:D431:983C:A59:CFA5 (talk) 09:39, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The academics citation #3 is wrong

[edit]

Thats a random website article, not actual academic work published by academics 71.120.193.161 (talk) 20:07, 12 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Correct, and it's a very poor source altogether. The Herzog-Toynbee debate is covered in plenty of less partisan sources. Zerotalk 11:09, 13 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

1990s/Rabin

[edit]

This incident is surely not a comparison of Israel to Nazi Germany]. It's a comparison of one politician (seen by the accusers as opposing Israel) to Nazi Germany. If we include every time an Israeli accused another Israeli of being like a Nazi we'd have to expand the article a lot. I'm inclined to delete this addition while editor proposing it, إيان seeks consensus. BobFromBrockley (talk) 09:42, 3 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The leader of one was compared to the leader of the other... perfectly within scope of "comparisons between Israel and Nazi Germany."
re:If we include every time an Israeli accused another Israeli of being like a Nazi we'd have to expand the article a lot—if they are as high profile, as directly connected to the state, and receive the same kind of coverage in reliable sources, they should be included. إيان (talk) 01:29, 5 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. This is not a comparison between Israel and the Nazis, and it relates exclusively to internal Israeli politics. Nehushtani (talk) 08:04, 5 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Nehushtani, how exactly is it that a comparison between the leader of Israel (at the time) and the leader of Nazi Germany is not a comparison between Israel and the Nazis? Your comment and it relates exclusively to internal Israeli politics also makes no sense. If a comparison between Israel and Nazi Germany relates to internal Israeli politics, does it cease to be a comparison between Israel and Nazi Germany? Please explain. إيان (talk) 19:26, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
One political group in Israel made the comparison about another political group. Neither group is comparing Israel to the Nazis. It relates to Israel and to the Nazis, but it is not a comparison between Israel and the Nazis. Nehushtani (talk) 06:46, 9 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
'The leader of Israel is like the leader of Nazi Germany' is not a comparison that would belong in the category of comparisons between Israel and Nazi Germany? Your argument is not convincing. إيان (talk) 07:11, 9 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The article is about comparisons between the countries. It does not belong here. Nehushtani (talk) 07:19, 9 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
'Country' is imprecise. This page is about comparisons between Israel and Nazi Germany, two states, which is to say two political regimes or governments, not excluding comparisons of the leaders of these two governments. إيان (talk) 07:36, 9 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Why doesn’t holocaust inversion have its own article?

[edit]

It seems antisemitic on wikipedias behalf to not have an article on one of the most used antisemitic tropes used by the far right and far left. It’s one thing for scholars to compare the treatment of Palestinians to nazi policy, but it is antisemitic when it’s just used against the Jewish community and Israel as a whole 2607:AC80:401:7:3110:FCE2:6DDE:8294 (talk) 05:56, 11 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Holocaust inversion is both discussed in this article and in Antisemitic trope#Holocaust inversion. As an answer to your question "Why", I think it is because no Wikipedia volunteer has ever decided to write an article about it. But I am not sure it would be notable enough beyond the two sections that we already have. Lova Falk (talk) 06:51, 11 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
