Imide

Diacetamide is the simplest acyclic imide.
Succinimide is an important cyclic imide.

Imide is a functional group in organic chemistry. It is a nitrogen atom connected to two acyl groups. The name "imide" can mean all compounds that have this group, or just cyclic compounds.[1] Oxidation of lactams can be used to make cyclic imides.[2]
