User talk:ZLima12
Hi, I saw your message on my talk page regarding my edits on the Kingda Ka Article, and I have left a message titled Who Takes These Records Back? on Talk: Kingda Ka if you would like to view it. I had explained that over on Top Thrill 2 and Talk: Top Thrill 2, us editors have come to a consensus that Top Thrill 2 should have taken these records back because of the announced reopening date of May 10, 2025 and that we have Kingda Ka set as succeeding and preceding these records as well as in the chart it states that Top Thrill 2 is the current record holder. I will not edit the Kingda Ka Article and I will leave it up to you If you would like to edit it.
Thanks

- @Eliinjic Could you link to the specific places where you came to a consensus? I can not see anything on either Top Thrill 2 or Talk:Top Thrill 2 that matches this description. Also, the announced reopening date is pretty far away, and there is no way for us to know for certain whether it will come true or not (see WP:CRYSTAL). For all we know, it could get pushed back again, and Falcon's Flight could open before it. ZLima12 (talk) 23:49, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
Sorting out Ka/TT2
[edit]I noticed you had various questions about Ka and TT2, so I'm going to try to help explain this.
I also agree with you in the fact that no clear consensus came out from Ka's or TT2's talk page; I didn't see anything there. (As far as my view, I left it on Ka's talk page) There definitely seems to be some kind of discrepancy among editors here, so I suggest waiting it out until more people are involved and an answer becomes clearer.
I'd love to help sort all of this out so feel free to reach me on my talk page! Therguy10 (talk) 14:20, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- Unrelated and in addition, I am also working to rescue Operation B&M, which has seemingly been abandoned for about a decade now. I'm finding active users who may be interested in helping out and I thought that is something you may be interested in. No worries if not! Therguy10 (talk) 14:29, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Therguy10 sure, thanks for letting me know. I don't have a ton of time to edit at the moment, but I'll take a look when I get a chance, since it does sound interesting. ZLima12 (talk) 05:19, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Therguy10 hi, thanks for reaching out. I'm not sure if I have questions about the situation; my stance is pretty much that "was" is only warranted when the ride no longer stands as it did when it was operating. Once demolition or any other significant modifications begin, I would be more okay with changing it. Still though, I think that "was" would be somewhat misleading until the ride is pretty much gone; conveying the current state of removal in the first sentence of the article would be ideal, since it's such a large and notable attraction. - That makes sense and that’s a good point of view to have. Thanks for clarifying!
- I’m still gathering more editors to work on Operation B&M but I’ll definitely try to let you know if it starts-up again. (Which it looks like it’s on good pace!) Therguy10 (talk) 06:08, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
Re: Reviving Operation B&M
[edit]Hello again. I am pleased to inform you that Operation B&M will be ready for a "revival" starting on February 1, 2025. If you have any questions feel free to reach me on my talk page!
(Also, excellent work with keeping an eye on Kingda Ka; it doesn't go unnoticed!) Therguy10 (talk) 17:38, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
The revival has begun!
[edit]Hey there! The revival for Operation B&M has officially started! Since you considered participating I’ve come to let you know, but it’s totally up to you whether you’d like to join or not. Thanks!

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
