Jonesboro mayors

[edit]

Hi User01938. Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for creating the Draft:List of mayors of Jonesboro, Arkansas. I hope you will continue building the list and adding references. I've added a few references to Mayors of Jonesboro, Arkansas. It would make sense to merge the two lists at some point. Cheers and thanks again for your work. -- M2545 (talk) 10:13, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I would have simply improved Mayors of Jonesboro, Arkansas had I known it existed; thank you for informing me! User01938 (talk) 18:03, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about 2016 Jonesboro mayoral election

[edit]

Hello User01938, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, 2016 Jonesboro mayoral election, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2016 Jonesboro mayoral election.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Yoblyblob}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Fort Smith mayors

[edit]

Hi User01938. Thank you for starting the Draft:List of mayors of Fort Smith, Arkansas article. I did not notice it until today after I'd already compiled the Mayors of Fort Smith, Arkansas article. At some point, the two articles could be merged. Thanks again for your continued work on Arkansas history! Cheers. M2545 (talk) 13:04, 15 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I realized that I forgot to respond to this and for that I am so sorry. Let's merge them! User01938 (talk) 07:54, 3 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Lijil was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
All the references are either trivial (e.g. the Time article from 1958 that says he won a science competition which is nice but doesn't make him notable and is not substantial coverage - can be used to verify birthdate etc but not to show notability) or not independent (company profiles etc).
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

2016 Jonesboro mayoral elections has been marked for speedy deletion. How can I effectively contest this? User01938 (talk) 00:44, 3 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. 2A02:C7C:4D0A:A500:18B3:9D6A:5198:86B5 (talk) 21:10, 2 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey User01938! I noticed you are a member of the American politics taskforce, so you might be interested in a new draft article I have been creating the last few days: Draft:Influence of severe weather on American politics. The article focuses a lot on how politics get affected or influenced by severe weather. For example, how Hurricane Helene last year influenced the outcome of the 2024 United States presidential election, as well as how the U.S. Congress investigated (twice actually) FEMA's response to the effects of Hurricane Helene.

I do not know if you would be interested in it, but I wanted to let you know about it. If you are interested, feel free to edit and add stuff to the draft article, and if you have any questions, you are always welcome to message me! If you are not interested, just ignore this message. Hello, and thank you for reviewing the draft. I have removed all references to the Democratic Party of Arkansas website, except for the one instance that provides his family and church details, which is not present at any other source; if this is necessary to remove, I will gladly do it. Other than that, The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette actually is, despite its name, a largely unbiased news source and is the oldest newspaper in Arkansas. See its Ad Fontes bias score of 0.18 here.
