Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Leslie Zemeckis (Q23767052) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Leslie Zemeckis. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. jlwoodwa (talk) 08:03, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

- I just added a title and a tag. The article has already been published, but if you want it to stay, you should write more details and make it a more detailed article. TouchedWithFire (talk) 09:07, 22 December 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Ian Strachan (pilot)
[edit]Hello TouchedWithFire,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username BoyTheKingCanDance, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Ian Strachan (pilot), for deletion, because there's already a page about that topic at Draft:Ian W. Strachan. Please don't be discouraged; we appreciate your effort in creating new articles. To avoid this in the future, consider using the search function to find pages that already cover what you want to write about.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|BoyTheKingCanDance}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

- I don't know what you are talking about, if you could direct me to the specific edit that would be cool.TouchedWithFire (talk) 22:07, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hmm, the notification isn't great, sorry about that! It looks as if when you created this, you did so by copying content from here. That's not the right way to move a page, which as I'm sure you know is done using the Move command. Happy to clarify more if you have further questions. [edit]I think you commented something in my own talk page. I replied you there, so we can debate there. Here I just note about my comments will be in my own talk page and not here to avoid repetitive and confusing cross-talking. AyubuZimbale (talk) 18:53, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: E' Nata Una Star?
[edit]Hello TouchedWithFire, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of E' Nata Una Star?, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: There is sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. jlwoodwa (talk) 06:18, 17 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Jlwoodwa, thanks for the clarification.
- Just trying to understand your reasoning: since the article E' Nata Una Star? consisted only of a single unsourced sentence stating the film's title, year, genre, and director, with no further context or indication of notability, what made you consider it to have sufficient context to decline speedy deletion under A1?
- I'm asking so I can better understand the criteria and improve my tagging in the future. TouchedWithFire (talk) 07:37, 17 August 2025 (UTC)!
- The scope of A1 is very, very small. If you're talking about sources or notability, you're already far beyond it. A1 only applies to articles which give so little information that you can't even identify what they're about. A film's title, year, genre, and director is definitely enough to uniquely identify it. That's not to say that it's alright for an article to contain nothing more than that – Wikipedia articles are not database entries – but that's a problem to be fixed with some other tool than A1. jlwoodwa (talk) 07:57, 17 August 2025 (UTC)
- OK. thanks TouchedWithFire (talk) 08:30, 17 August 2025 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Patar knight. I noticed that you have been adding short descriptions to articles. However, the short descriptions you added are too long to be effective, such as at Bernard de Bluet d'Arbères. The guideline is that short descriptions should ideally be under 40 characters long, and no longer than needed. For more information, see the short description guidelines. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you. -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 18:04, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
- OK. Appreciate it. TouchedWithFire (talk) 04:28, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
