Question
[edit]Question from Jaredryandloneria (14:57, 29 October 2025)
[edit]Why Wikipedia is don't allow copyright pictures --Jaredryandloneria (talk) 14:57, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Jaredryandloneria: Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! The short answer is that it can cause legal issues if we take work that isn't our own. There might be some answers to your questions at Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright. If there's anything specific in there that you need more information on, let me know and I'd be happy to clarify! Hello,
I hope you are all well.
How can I submit articles to wikipedia?
Thankyou --Habib552 (talk) 12:58, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hello @Habib552 and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for being willing to jump into creating a Wikipedia article. It may be tricky for you to start editing by creating an article, because creating articles on Wikipedia are very difficult. There are many technical aspects to Wikipedia that take a lot of learning, but some of the tasks at the Task Center can help you learn those things. For example, all subjects of Wikipedia articles must pass our notability guideline. If you're still interested in creating an article on something, the instructions at Help:Your first article are very informative; if you're confused with something specific there, I'd be happy to explain if you point it out to me. Cheers and happy editing! Relativity ⚡️ 02:01, 4 November 2025 (UTC)

Question from Awaludinvibez (21:55, 4 November 2025)
[edit]Hello I'm an artist and I want to know how to edit my account so that anyone that search my name will see me and my picture with more information about me --Awaludinvibez (talk) 21:55, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
Question from Rafe Rackstraw (23:47, 4 November 2025)
[edit]I would like to update 3 pages: the first is the List_of_Taft_School_alumni page. adding 2 entries to people who already have Wikipedia pages. This involves creating links in each of the new entries. One is just adding an American educator and author to the Academics section. Alfred Randall Collins ’59, Professor of Sociology, author linking to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randall_Collins
The second could go in the Government officials section but all existing entries are "American" Government officials. This person (now deceased) was the vice president of the Dominican Republic.
Jacinto Peynado Garrigosa ’59, Vice President of the Dominican Republic linking to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacinto_Peynado_Garrigosa
Each of the target pages should have an edit to identify Taft as their prep school. Collins' page just vaguely says "New England prep school" and Peynado's is silent about his education.
Before I undertake these edits, can you assist me in the link creation process? --Rafe Rackstraw (talk) 23:47, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Rafe Rackstraw: Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Before you add any links, are there any reliable, published sources that say specifically that both of these people went to Taft? If you find a reliable source for that, you should add the information (with the source) that they went to Taft to their articles before adding them to the list. If there is no published, reliable source that exists for that information, you shouldn't add it because it would be difficult to verify that it's true.
- Creating the links shouldn't be too hard. Just put each person's name inside of double brackets ([[ ]]) For example, to link to Randall Collins, you would write
[[Randall Collins]]to get Randall Collins. Hope that helps. Relativity ⚡️ 00:08, 5 November 2025 (UTC)- As to "published" sources, the 1959 Taft School yearbook has a short biography on each - Collins on page 47 and Peynado on page 83. Peynado did not use his mother's appended surname (Garrigosa) while at Taft. He was "Jacinto Bienvenido Peynado".
- You did not address the implied "American" nature of the Government officials section. Rafe Rackstraw (talk) 00:17, 5 November 2025 (UTC)
