Madeline Cadotte

[edit]

Thanks for the information at that discussion. I had a few issues writing about t individuals like Madeline Cadotte. An issue I have faced was disguising between history and folklore for this historical figure.

It appears there is no consensus among historians on get birth and death. But an issue I faced is about the details of her Catholic wedding. All sources agree she had a Catholic wedding and was given her European name.

However, they disagree about all the details of her Catholic wedding. However, many sources talk about how Madeline Island was named after her shortly after her Catholic wedding. Cadotte family stories talks about this event, but many of the details read like folklore. CycoMa2 (talk) 01:58, 28 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @CycoMa2, I will have a look at some of the biographies. I find the subject of Native women & Métis/French Canadian fur trappers interesting (and a have a few books at home on the topic). As I find the time I will see what I might be able to find to improve the articles. In the meantime, I noticed some of the biographies need a bit of copy editing. If there are questions I will post on the respective article's talk pages and ping you. Netherzone (talk) 14:01, 28 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
