Question from Grigorirasputinlover (07:33, 5 November 2025)

[edit]

Hello, I am just a volunteer contributor to this encyclopedia. I am willing to do more for Wikipedia. But, I'm a little bit discouraged by what I receive on my talk page, what do I do when someone censors me and accuses me of absurd things in blatent violation of WP:AFG? --Grigorirasputinlover (talk) 07:33, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! So, what they did was hide away your comment due to it being either created or assisted by an LLM. First, there are multiple standouts that anyone can see upfront, that shows an LLM was involved. A couple AI checkers also noted some of the text may be AI generated. Nathannah was correct in their action with the comment, as any LLM comments must be collapsed, as required by the guidelines. Onto the second part of their message, they are mentioning sockpuppets. Sockpuppets are highly against the rules of Wikipedia and are a blockable offense. Their reasoning is good, but also may be wrong, but even so, I'd suggest you not use a LLM to help you write things on Wikipedia and not resort to sockpuppetry to try and shift the consensus into your favor. Only other thing I want to comment on is Nathannah's choice of words, and that they were a little too bitey for towards a newcomer. If you need anything, feel free to ask me here! I am in a crazy situation...

I understand the suspicion, I don't blame Nathannah, I agree in that he was right by censoring my message if it triggers AI alarms. I DID NOT use a LLM to write this text. I am surprised that it triggered AI alarms. Imzadi1979 maintained the accusations, reverted my same edit, so I opened a discussion to avoid WP:WAR.
– Given the first AI detector that I found via Google search (https://www.zerogpt.com/), it says that my text is 100% human. See for youself or try it!

Zerogpt says that the text is 100% human.
=> How can I oppose this diagnosis of LLM?
– Given my talk page, you'll understand why I am being accused of sockpuppetry. But, again, I am not the one they think!
– Given WP:AFG, I shouldn't prove that I am of good faith. However, I am willing to prove my innocence, what can I do to prove that I am not doing sockpuppetry?

I really appreciate your help, you're a true mentor!

Sorry I wasn't online to give some answers at AN/I, but looks like the two of you managed to solve the problem cleanly! I wish most arguments could end that way. Anyways, I wish you luck on your future Wiki endeavors! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Muffin(Spreading democracy, one edit at a time) 23:24, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary account IP viewer granted

[edit]
The temporary account IP viewer logo, composed of the Wikipedia globe with a user and an IP address

Hello, MuffinHunter0. Per your request, your account has been granted temporary-account-viewer rights. You are now able to reveal the IP addresses of individuals using temporary accounts that are not visible to the general public. This is very sensitive information that is only to be used to aid in anti-abuse workflows. Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer for more information on this user right. It is important to remember:

  • You must not share IP address data with someone who does not have the same access permissions unless disclosure is permissible as per guidelines listed at Foundation:Policy:Wikimedia Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy.
  • Access must not be used for political control, to apply pressure on editors, or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to investigate a temporary user. Note that using multiple temporary accounts is not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of policies (for example, block or ban evasion).

It is also important to note that the following actions are logged for others to see:

  • When a user accepts the preference that enables or disables IP reveal for their account.
  • Revealing an IP address of a temporary account.
  • Listing the temporary accounts that are associated with one or more IP addresses (using the CIDR notation format).

Remember, even if a user is violating policy, avoid revealing personal information if possible. Use temporary account usernames rather than disclosing IP addresses directly, or give information such as same network/not same network or similar. If you do not want the user right anymore then please ask me or another administrator and it will be removed for you. You may also voluntarily give up access at any time by visiting Special:Preferences. Happy editing! — rsjaffe 🗣️ 19:21, 10 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from HRatGBI (22:12, 11 November 2025)

[edit]

Hello! Are we able to take ownership of our Wikipedia page and/or have the opportunity to approve/deny changes to our page? Unfortunately, our company is being harassed by a group of people who disagree with our owner's private legal matter unrelated to our company, Gauthier Biomedical. They have tried to update our Wikipedia page with some simple language to test the water, which I hopefully deleted appropriately. We are confident they will try again. They have been encouraging others to write Reviews about Gauthier Biomedical on our Google (which we had removed). This harassment must stop, and we are afraid it's going to get worse. How can we protect against these unprofessional and unrelated posts? Thank you! --HRatGBI (talk) 22:12, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
