Hello I'm a student from LUISS university in Rome and I'm working on a presentation based on wikipedia's crowdsourcing process and one part of the work is to put myself in the shoes of a wikipedia contributor and find out some feeling he receives when editing or writing pages. The questions I would like to receive answers on are the following:

  1. What does the editor think and feel:
  2. What does the editor say and do:
  3. What does the editor hear and see (about its surroundings):
  4. What are his pains (what type of frustration does the user feel when contributing):
  5. What are his gains (what does make him feel good when contributing):

Active support is really needed so thanks in advance and have a great day Tartaluca (talk) 14:43, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:49, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I see you WP:EDITWARring at Caesar and Cleopatra (play) regarding captions. Per our Manual of style, in the MOS:CAPFRAG section: "Most captions are not complete sentences, but merely sentence fragments, which should not end with a period or full stop." I assume that you believe your position to be correct, but if you make an edit, and another editor opposes your edit, then do not re-revert, and instead go to the Talk page and open a new discussion there to try to achieve a WP:CONSENSUS by giving the policy and guideline arguments, or authoritative sources in favor or your position. See WP:BRD. -- Ssilvers (talk) 18:29, 4 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

1) These weren't sentence fragments. These were gramatically complete sentences that fulfill all criteria of a sentence. Definition of a sentence: A set of words complete in itself containing a subject and a predicate.
2) There is no basis for discussion when you correcly place a period after a sentence in a caption and another users denies that the caption is a sentence. In that case, the burden of proof lies on the user to explain why they think the caption does not meet the definition of a sentence. If a user's actions violate Wikipedia's guidelines (such as not placing a full stop against a sentence), then that user must justify their actions. Likewise, I won't start a discussion if a user disagrees that 1+1=2 because there is nothing to discuss.
3) I would politely ask you to self-revert your incorrect edits in which you reverted my correctly placed full stops. Maxeto0910 (talk) 19:16, 4 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Here at Wikipedia, it doesn't matter if you think you're right. The question is whether or not you can achieve consensus on the article's Talk page. If you edit war, you can lose editing privileges. -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:00, 4 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

"The question is whether or not you can achieve consensus on the article's Talk page." Actually, no, at least not always. Objective corrections (like correcting spelling mistakes or similar stuff) should not require consensus. If my understanding of the definition of a sentence is wrong, I politely ask you to explain why it is wrong. Maxeto0910 (talk) 20:04, 4 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, this is Wikipedia, a publication that you do not own. You do not make the rules, and if you disregard them, you do so at your peril. I have tried to give you some advice here. You don't have to take it. All the best. I am unwatching your page. -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:19, 4 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Do you think you should first achieve consensus before correcting an objectively wrong statement caused by an obvious typo such as "1+1=3"? If yes, then I don't agree with that interpretation of the purpose of talk pages. And that doesn't mean that I disregard Wikipedia's rules of seeking consensus for controversial changes.
