"Hello, Can you please guide me to make this article more professional --RokaRoqa (talk) 09:55, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @RokaRoqa, I assume you're talking about your draft at User:RokaRoqa/sandbox. Overall, it looks pretty good! Some issues that I caught:
- 1. You're using Template:Infobox artist for the infobox; a more appropriate template would be Template:Infobox officeholder.
- 2. The wikilink Egyptian in the first sentence is a disambiguation page. Links to disambiguation pages are discouraged by policy. I would recommend instead using a piped link to Egypt, or whatever specific page you think is most appropriate.
- 3. The majority of the first paragraph in the "Early Life and Education" section does not appear to have a source. If you meant for reference number 5 or 6 to also be used to support the whole first paragraph, you should also place it at the end of the paragraph (i.e. after the
...which he obtained in 2019.
sentence). Note that if you're reusing reference 5 or 6, don't copy-paste the whole citation; use named references instead. - 4. Most of the offices listed in the "Career" section also do not appear to have supporting sources.
- Once you're ready, you can submit it for review by following the instructions at WP:AFCREVIEW. Good luck! Liu1126 (talk) 10:31, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
- hello, @Liu1126
- I have modified it as you directed me.. Is there anything else I need to do?
- thank you، RokaRoqa (talk) 10:44, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hello @Liu1126
- Can you please help me if this article is more professional or what? RokaRoqa (talk) 11:44, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
- I see you've made some good improvements to the article. However, it seems like the second paragraph of "Early Life and Education" is now unsourced (it seems like you moved it up to the first paragraph without duplicating it using named references). Once that's done, you can pass it through WP:AFC. Liu1126 (talk) 15:27, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
Question from Del concept (08:15, 14 October 2025)
[edit]Can my page be published publicly when searched --Del concept (talk) 08:15, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Del concept, whether a page can be found in search engine results depends on whether it is indexed. The Wikipedia pages that do get indexed are listed at Wikipedia:Controlling search engine indexing. I should note that while some other pages do also get indexed, only actual articles (mainspace pages) generally get any meaningful traffic. See Help:Your first article and Wikipedia:Articles for creation for guidelines on creating new articles. Liu1126 (talk) 08:22, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
Question from FunnyFish25 on Satan War (14:39, 15 October 2025)
[edit]Hi! Is IMDb a credible citation for a movie and director? --FunnyFish25 (talk) 14:39, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @FunnyFish25, WP:IMDB, the entry for IMDb in the Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources list, states that it is considered an unreliable source (with two exceptions listed at Wikipedia:Citing IMDb: writing credits supplied by the WGA and MPA ratings supplied by the MPA). The use of IMDb as a citation for the cast and crew lists in released films is disputed, but I would still not recommend using it unless better citations really can't be found. Hello!
How would I edit a factual error in Wikipedia? E.g. a street address in an article is incorrect.
Thank you! --MN-Prime (talk) 15:25, 17 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @MN-Prime, you can just click on the "edit" link and go into the editor to fix it. Also make sure you have a reliable source to support the text. You can find more detailed information at Help:Editing. Liu1126 (talk) 19:21, 17 October 2025 (UTC)
Hello, how to move an article to live? --Priyajag (talk) 18:11, 17 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Priyajag, as you are autoconfirmed, you have the technical ability to move the page to mainspace by following the instructions at Help:How to move a page. I would still recommend passing the article through WP:AFC so that more experienced editors can take a closer look and suggest any changes necessary. Liu1126 (talk) 19:26, 17 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks @Liu1126, i've moved the page to mainspace. But it is showing 'nonindex' in the page source. Could i move this to index? what else i need to do for it? Please help me with this. Priyajag (talk) 16:31, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Priyajag, all pages in mainspace newer than 90 days are noindexed by default and cannot be overridden. It will be automatically indexed after 90 days, or earlier if it gets patrolled (although the latter is unlikely due to the very large backlog at New Pages Patrol). You can find more information at Wikipedia:Controlling search engine indexing. Liu1126 (talk) 16:44, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarification @Liu1126. I noticed that this Wikipedia page has been deleted, showing a message stating that it falls under the category of “Organization/Company information.” However, I can see that many other organizations have active Wikipedia pages. Could you please help me understand why this page was removed and guide me on how I can retrieve or recreate it in compliance with Wikipedia’s guidelines? Priyajag (talk) 08:55, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, the reason it was deleted, as stated in the deletion comment, was that it did not "credibly indicate the importance or significance" of the company. You can look at Wikipedia:Credible claim of significance to see what is considered a credible claim of significance. Apart from that, the subject of an article must also be considered "notable" under the policies Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies), which are fairly long and complicated policies but can be summarised as the subject having "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject".
- You can request to retrieve the text of the article by going to the page Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion, fill in the article's title above the "Request draftification" button, and press the button. If an administrator approves your request, they will place the text of the article in a page within your userspace or email it to you, which you can then work on to meet the above requirements. Question from Thunderstrike501 (01:55, 24 October 2025)
[edit]Hello, I have taken note of the policies on COI, but wish to write an article about a person I am related to. Is there no way for that article to exist unless others create it? I personally never knew the person involved but I am related. --Thunderstrike501 (talk) 01:55, 24 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Thunderstrike501, as the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest policy states, you aren't allowed to create the article, but you can still draft it and pass the draft through the Wikipedia:Articles for creation (AFC) process while also disclosing your COI as the guidelines at WP:DISCLOSE state. You can click on the AFC link to learn more about how to use the process. Liu1126 (talk) 18:49, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
Hi, I can't figure out how to update a citation that is within a template on a wikipedia page. For example in the South Rona page, citation [1] is within an infobox and I can't edit it with the visual editor. The link is broken and should be replaced with an archived link (see citation 14, which I added): http://archive2021.parliament.scot/Gaelic/placenamesP-Z.pdf --Tamia55 (talk) 18:52, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Tamia55, citation 1 on South Rona isn't editable in visual editor (or source editor for that matter) because it is transcluding the template Template:Gaelic Placenames. You will need to edit the template page directly instead of the article (this will automatically change all citations across Wikipedia that use the template). For the template page, it would probably be better to use the link https://webarchive.nrscotland.gov.uk/20240327011012/http://archive2021.parliament.scot/gd/visitandlearn/40900.aspx instead of the PDFs themselves to keep the access format the same. Let me know if you need any help with the template. Liu1126 (talk) 19:02, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for this response. I have to admit I would be terrified to edit a template that might affect many separate Wiki pages. Perhaps you could do it for me?
- Thanks! Tamia55 (talk) 23:21, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
- All done ;)
- I've simply replaced the current link with the National Records of Scotland link, but let me know if you had something else in mind. Liu1126 (talk) 23:56, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, that's perfect Tamia55 (talk) 16:26, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
Question from Wedoalltech (20:48, 29 October 2025)
[edit]hi im trying to publish information about GOGI but it's getting declined. It's pro-bono work for a charity. The article was declined because of the tone sounding more like an ad, and also because it sounded as though it was created by an LLM. I've since edited the article and have submitted it again, but I might need some help in the editing of it being compliant. Thank you! --Wedoalltech (talk) 20:48, 29 October 2025 (UTC)

Question from Sandwichesandpancakes (10:21, 4 November 2025)
[edit]Hello, I've been trying to create a draft article about a field in Karachi, Pakistan. I've run into a bit of trouble with the references, In the reference box, the references 1-4 state "Cite error: The named reference was invoked but never defined", i would like to request your help regarding this matter, Thank you --Sandwichesandpancakes (talk) 10:21, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Sandwichesandpancakes, the issue is basically what the cite error says. You are trying to invoke those four named references, but you never actually defined those four references. Named references still need to be defined just like other references/footnotes/citations, which I see you did do with references 5, 6, 7, and 9. Liu1126 (talk) 15:01, 6 November 2025 (UTC)

Question from RadonRaccoon (04:20, 8 November 2025)
[edit]Hello! I was wondering if you have any advice on where to go to learn the basics of Wikipedia editing, what kind of information should be provided in articles vs. what is unnecessary, as well as how information should be structured and sectioned. --RadonRaccoon (talk) 04:20, 8 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @RadonRaccoon, for a comprehensive introduction to Wikipedia editing, I would recommend reading through the Help:Introduction tutorial or, if you would like something more interactive, playing through Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Adventure. To answer your two specific questions, you can look at Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not (this should give an idea of what shouldn't be in articles, especially the "Encyclopedic content" section) and the Wikipedia:Manual of Style (be warned: the Manual of Style is extremely long; refer to it whenever you feel unsure about something, but don't try to read through and memorise it).
