Question from WhiteFactLoom (04:26, 21 October 2025)
[edit]Hi mentor,
I’ve drafted an article about Openly, Inc., an American insurance technology company, at User:WhiteFactLoom/Openly, Inc..
Could you please review it and share feedback on its notability and sourcing before I submit it to Articles for Creation (AfC)?
Thanks! --WhiteFactLoom (talk) 04:26, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hey, looks like a good article! A few of the insurance journal sources are coming up as page not found for me, will be worth looking at before submitting. archive.org and archive.ph might have copies saved that you can use. I'd also suggest merging funding into history as it could come across as promotional/having undue weight to some editors, but that is up to you! If you need anything else please let me know! Thanks, Encoded Talk 💬 16:38, 22 October 2025 (UTC)
Question from Strandedkerbal (16:19, 22 October 2025)
[edit]Hi! Didn’t know Wikipedia mentors existed lol, I’ve just been fixing stuff when I can in my free time but I may expand some space related articles because 90% of my time here is looking at space topics. --Strandedkerbal (talk) 16:19, 22 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @Strandedkerbal, welcome to Wikipedia! Us mentors do exist, though not very well advertised! I'm here if you have any questions or need help with anything at all :) Thanks for helping to fix up some articles, and good look writing some if you decide to do so! I've left a welcome message on your talk page with a tonne of info on it, don't worry about memorising it all or anything like that - but it might be useful for reference in the future if you find yourself needing it! Hope it helps, Encoded Talk 💬 16:36, 22 October 2025 (UTC)

StubHub and Viagogo
[edit]Hi Encoded! Just wanted to drop you a line in case you were interested in taking a look at requests I made for the StubHub and Viagogo articles. Viagogo is an especially simple one and just has to do with removing some redundant content. Appreciate any thoughts you might have! Stephanie BINK (talk) 21:24, 28 October 2025 (UTC)

Seeking feedback on a Wikipedia work page
[edit]Hi @Encoded! I wanted to ask if you might be willing to help with a small issue on the Wikipedia work page that lists companies and editors involved in paid editing. Outspoken is currently listed under “undisclosed editors,” but I’ve always disclosed my paid status by adding COI tags to the talk pages of any articles I’ve worked on.
Since you’ve seen my past work and know that I follow Wikipedia’s disclosure policies, I thought you might be a good neutral editor to help move or correct that entry. I’m not blocked from editing the page, but I’d rather avoid any appearance of impropriety by requesting assistance from someone independent. I'd appreciate any feedback or help that you could provide.
Here’s the link to the page for reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:List_of_paid_editing_companies#Outspoken_Media SBCornelius (talk) 18:37, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @SBCornelius, I certainly agree that you follow the disclosure policies. Your userpage alone should prove that. I'm sorry to hear you've been put in the undisclosed section of that list. I've moved you down to the disclosed section which lists paid editors that correctly follow policy, since I've not seen any evidence to suggest you've done any non-disclosure whatsoever. Thanks, Encoded Talk 💬 19:16, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Encoded, thank you for correcting this so quickly! SBCornelius (talk) 20:07, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
Hope this isn't rude but...
[edit]You said in this edit summary that I've worked with the COI queue for a couple of years
, but using XTools, I only see single digits edit count for you at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard. Did you mean something else in the edit summary? ☆ Bri (talk) 21:09, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @Bri, I haven't been active at the noticeboard but I do work in the COI edit request queue Encoded Talk 💬 21:12, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- Oh duh, of course. I used to be more active at COIN and didn't recognize your username from there. ☆ Bri (talk) 21:15, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- No worries, I've been meaning to show my face over there more often - haven't been around much in the past! Thanks, Encoded Talk 💬 21:18, 29 October 2025 (UTC)

Help with Draft:Sanket_Goel
[edit]Hi @Encoded,
I hope you’ve been doing well! I wanted to quickly follow up here (since I wasn’t sure if you’d seen my email earlier). Thank you again for all your guidance with the Sanket Goel article. It’s been really helpful in improving the draft and ensuring compliance with COI and neutrality guidelines.
The draft has now been submitted for a while now, and I just wanted to check if there’s anything further I should be doing to make it easier to review, or if it’s best to simply wait in the queue. I completely understand that reviews take time and appreciate all the volunteer effort that goes into this process.
Thanks, Shashy 922 (talk) 05:03, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @Shashy 922, apologies for missing the email. I've been travelling with work recently so I haven't been checking as frequently as usual. You can speed up the review by asking past reviewers, unfortunately I don't have time at the moment otherwise I'd take a look. Other than that, just best to sit in the queue I'm afraid. Seeking Feedback and Recommendations for Wikipedia Page
[edit]Hi @Encoded!
I have a few questions regarding the TaxSlayer Wikipedia page. I’m hoping to get the page updated with accurate, neutral information ahead of the upcoming tax season. Below are links to a couple of COI requests that were previously declined due to listings of services:
Talk:TaxSlayer#Updates to consumer product
Talk:TaxSlayer#Updates to pro product
For these, I’m wondering if there might be a workable path forward where we only remove the service listings. Would the remaining portions of the request be acceptable if framed this way?
Also, I completely understand the concern around promotional tone. Do you have any recommendations on how to make these updates sound more neutral and encyclopedic? I want to ensure the information stays factual and compliant with Wikipedia’s guidelines.
