Not a violation of the username policy. Real names are permitted except when they imply that the editor is a specific living person they are not. Consider filing a report at the conflict of interest noticeboard. We only worry about "official"(suggesting the user is not the named person) in a username if the subject already has an article. The user has freely admitted they are Mr. Diamantakos. 331dot (talk) 15:28, 16 December 2025 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level
Before posting a request for unprotection, please discuss it with the protecting administrator first. You can create a request below only if you receive no response from them.
To find out which administrator protected the page, go to the page's edit history and click on the "View logs for this page" link (located underneath the page's title). The protecting administrator is listed in the protection log entry, next to the words "protected", "changed protection level", or "configured pending changes". If there are a large number of log entries on the page, use the drop-down menu near the top of the page and select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" to filter the logs accordingly.
DO NOT request a reduction in protection if...
- ...you are being prevented from editing the page. A desire to change content is not a valid reason for unprotection. Instead:
- If you can edit the article's talk page, use the WP:Edit Request Wizard to propose a change on the article's talk page. Include an explanation of the exact content that you want to change, and what the content will be afterward.
- If the article's talk page is protected, you may propose a change at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Edit.
- ...your reasoning for reducing protection is that the article has not been vandalized. That simply means the protection is working as intended.
- ...your reasoning for reducing protection is basically "a long time has passed" without supporting details.
- ...you haven't contacted the protecting administrator.
You may request a protection reduction below if...
- ...you want to change the protection level of a template or module from full protection to template protection. You may add the request to this page without having to discuss it with the protecting administrator first.
- ...you need to remove creation protection from a location where no page exists (redlinked pages) after a draft version of the intended article is prepared beforehand and ready to be published.
- ...you are proposing a trial reduction in protection for a page that has been protected for several years, provided the proposal is supported by evidence such as talk page activity, page views, page traffic, number of watchers, frequency of edit requests, and prior history of vandalism.
- ...the protecting administrator is inactive or has not responded to you in several days.
If you cannot locate your request, make sure to check the request archives to see if it's been moved there. Only requests that have been recently answered will still be listed here.
Current requests for edits to a protected page
Please add an edit request to the talk page of the protected page before adding an edit request here
Requests for specific edits should be made on the talk page of the protected article. You can create an edit request below only if the talk page is also protected, preventing you from adding a request there.
- You may add the appropriate template (
Edit protected,Edit template-protected,Edit extended-protected, orEdit semi-protected) to the article's talk page if you would like to request an edit be made. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - For edit requests being made due to the editor having a conflict of interest with the article subject (see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
Edit COItemplate should be used instead of the others listed above. - Requests to move pages that are currently move-protected should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not on this page.
- This page is not for holding discussions regarding content. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit that you wish to be performed.
Otherwise, this is the correct place to use in order to add an edit request if you are unable to add one to the article's talk page. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to properly add a request.
Sorry to be another peanut in the gallery here but the international response section is a real word salad. Could something like the following work?
"The attack gained international attention, and was responded to by numerous international leaders and representatives who condemned the attack. This included statements from leaders such the UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, and the United States of America President Donald Trump."
I would argue that these three countries + Israel are currently the only relevant countries to this current discussion due to long-standing geopolitical alliances, and Australia being part of the Commonwealth. Random American senators or another country’s ambassador (not to Australia) is unnecessary.
Thank you! Greyhounds Sleeping (talk) 04:27, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
(this part of the request has been removed because it's apparently not related to WP:PIA anymore)
I would like to add a protection notice (with an explanation) on the begining of the source like the Talk:Gaza war page has:

Thanks. ~2025-40848-27 (talk) 10:05, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

Hello, I'd like to request autopatrolled rights, seeing as I've made 32 mainspace articles, none of which are stubs (I do not rate my own created pages). Thus far, I've focused on creating pages related to music, most of which pertain to WP:Albums. Thanks, Fundgy (talk) 06:10, 9 December 2025 (UTC)

Hello! I was recently recommended by Aszx5000 on my talk page to apply for Autopatrolled permission. I have made about 6,700 edits and authored 88 articles and counting, which I always aim to publish at C or B class quality. I believe I have a strong understanding of relevant policy which I'm always striving to improve, and am always open to feedback and correction. Cheers! Johnson524 07:19, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
I've noticed B33tle's profilic creation of species-related pages (over 500 in the past 2 weeks), particularly beetle related pages. All of these seem excellent, and I have no doubts B33tle will do well with this permission (while also reducing the load on new page reviewers). All their contributions have been in line with the recent village pump discussion regarding their mass edits (3+ reliable sources, limiting to ~100 per day, following up with discussions on talk page), further bolstering my confidence in them. I'd also encourage them to consider Auto Wiki Browser permissions, if it would benefit them. Signed, Guessitsavis (she/they) Talk 13:24, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
I have made about 25 articles or so and I believe the articles I make are of a pretty high quality since all get reviewed at some point and have never been AfD'd. Nearly two months ago, I was recommended for this permission by an editor with the NPP permission who stated, "Since you appear trustworthy as an editor seems you may be in the running for autopatrolled rights any week/month from now."[1] I also believe granting me this permission will reduce the backlog for NPP permission holders since my pages will not appear on their backlog for them to need to review. Hello there! I would like to request the autopatrolled user right. I have read and understood WP:APCRITERIA, and have understanding of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, inter alia, biographies of living persons, copyright, verifiability, and notability. I have five successful DYK nominations, which shows my familiarity with quality requirements and review processes. Thank you. ❯❯❯ Raydann(Talk) 08:05, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

I was hoping to retain my NPR rights, which are set to expire in a few days. Destinyokhiria 💬 05:38, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
I am super active in reviewing and patrolling changes. Actively reviewing AFC now, and the reason why I apply for this access as I could help reduce the log for new pages, because many auto-confirmed articles are being created from these categories. I would focus on entertainment and India-related topics. AlphaCore talk 22:49, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
Reason for requesting new page reviewer rights: I am in my third year as a coordinator for the military history project. Having the new page reviewer right will allow me to review and approve/decline articles for creation and new pages in this topic area in particular and help reduce the backlog in general when time permits. I have seen several new pages in military history recently that I could have reviewed and approved. I have been a Wikipedia editor for more than 15 years. I have been active in AfD, speedy deletions and PRODs in past years and some PRODS recently. I have created 134 articles, improved hundreds of other articles and have saved or helped save eight GA articles in recent years. As a coordinator, I have helped and advised several new users in improving and writing articles for the project and on requirements for higher assessments. I was very active in vandalism patrol for several years. I have a clean block record except for a 49-second mistaken block which the administrator immediately reversed after realizing that I was the user reporting the vandalism and not the vandal. Donner60 (talk) 05:36, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
I'm quite interested at trying my hand at reviewing articles in the backlog, and have a reasonably good track record of (a lot of) copyediting, expanding stubs, and (more recently) countering vandalism. I've spent quite a bit of time reviewing various WP policies and guidelines, as well as the MOS, and try to abide by them and act in good faith as often as possible. I have a firm understanding of the principles around notability and sourcing in particular, having created a few articles myself from scratch. Blaithnaid (talk) 21:40, 14 December 2025 (UTC)

I regularly assess drafts and new pages for notability, sourcing, and promotional or problematic content. Hi, I'm a trial NPP and AFC reviewer and doing new page patrol requires moving some articles to draft for better improvements as they're not suitable in the main space, it will be more better if I can move articles without leaving redirects. This right would also be helpful for when I close RMs so that I don't need to request the move be performed at WP:RM/TR afterwards, as well as potentially helping out with moves there myself. Hello! It seems my account is finally six months old (judging by the fact I've gained access to WP:TWL a few minutes ago.) I regularly combat abuse from unregistered users, and I have some experience with reporting sockpuppets at WP:SPI. I do quite a lot of patrolling of recent edits for vandalism, spam, and other disruption. This includes having to deal with occasional LTAs and reporting cases to SPI. Being able to see TA IPs would be good for verifying abuse by multiple TAs from the same user and suspected LTAs. It would help deal with vandalism more efficiently. I'm requesting access mainly for two reasons. I do a lot of work in the companies space and seeing IP accounts allows me to more easily deal with SPAs and users that clearly have a COI. In addition I do work on anti vandalism regarding Buddhism followers edits per User:Arjayay/B B and being able to access IP account viewing is critical to seeing if the user is from the same area as the previous violators. - Imcdc Contact
I have done plenty of AIV and NPP work in the past; given how temporary accounts have reshaped how IPs work, what with editing and talk page history/warnings now disconnected, I'll find being able to view IPs useful in order to identify longer-term abuse or intractable cases of vandalism/NOTHERE. I am a NPP and do an amount of countervandalism work. For completeness, I have this access via my Steward rights. However, my preference is for access that I intend to use for a "local" purpose to be approved and granted locally rather than relying on my global access. That is, at the moment I would only use the Steward access to view an underlying IP here if it was related to a global Steward thing. MarcGarver (talk) 13:30, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
Hello Wikipedians! I have been editing here for over a year, with around 2,200 edits. I focus on articles related to Irish literature, Irish writers, Irish colleges, and Anglo-Irish figures. It's a specialized area, but it's important as well. I have gone through the permission criteria, and meet requirements 1-4 comfortably. The 5th one, regarding a need for the permission, I have been reverting vandalism on several pages, and can help in keeping the pages on Ireland and Anglo-Irish subjects vandalism-free. If granted the permission, I will only use it to fight vandalism, and with full accountability. SeanBeans1981 (talk) 12:36, 16 December 2025 (UTC) |
