To whomever it may concern, I'm Joseph Charles "Joe" Vitale, born on June 27, 1979 in the great city of Youngstown, Ohio in the United States, I grew up there until I was around 19, before moving to the not-so-great Wichita, Kansas for a part-time job with my father, Vannozzo Vitale (what a name!), and in late 2009 I went on a short trip to Stockport, Cheshire, England, with a former friend of mine (who doesn't want to be named due to his profession). Not before long, I decided to stay there permanently (what a mistake!). I support the English football/soccer club Stockport Town, after formerly supporting Rochdale.
I joined Wikipedia (my only love!) on the 31st of January in 2014, after anonymously and frequently editing for many months. The main reason for becoming a Wikipedian had remained a mystery for many years, but in subsequent years I've realised that I joined to make albums, singles, footballers, and musicians mean more to me in digital words, mostly for myself, but if you find that helpful then I must be doing something (if anything) right! And the only advice that I can give to anyone is L.A.B.A.T.Y.D (an acronym for "Life's a Bitch and Then You Die", harsh but true or not, I guess that it depends on the actor.
My Motto is:
L.A.B.A.T.Y.D! You've Just Gotta Get Used to It and You'll Live a Happy Life (Or try to!)
Autograph collecting, and notable people that I've met
You may find that in the "Additional information" section I have an autograph collection. My first ever autograph was Roger Daltrey's which I managed via backstage security whom kindly forwarded my note/request to him, and he wrote back to me. He dedicated it to myself, and told me to "Be Lucky" (as he does with most fans), but little did I know that he was going to record a song with this title as a single in 2014, with Pete Townshend as the Who (I also created a Wikipedia article for the song). Some of my other autographs were via fanmail (However, most of those I wrote to never got back to me. e.g. Paul McCartney, Don Henley, Glenn Frey (now R.I.P.), Sting, and Pete Townshend). The only autographs that I acquired via fanmail were Joe Walsh's, and Phil Collins'. I got Alexander O'Neal's autographs via an associate, he signed a photograph, and copies of his studio albums, Alexander O'Neal (1985), Hearsay (1987), All True Man (1991), and Love Makes No Sense (1993), and I later met him randomly one day outside of the Britannia Hotel in Manchester — he obviously didn't know who I was, and wasn't very nice (apparently he is hard of hearing, but was much nicer to my friend than me).
In 2024, I randomly met Will Mellor at the Queens pub in Bredbury, Stockport (where he was born, and raised), and also Tracy Tracy of the Primitives after a concert in Manchester.
The Mission (with Theatre of Hate as the opening act, and members of the Chameleons joining the Mission with members of Theatre of Hate during the encore) at the Ritz, Manchester
Suzi Quatro at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester (though I was 20 minutes late to this concert, missing roughly five songs, due to a hangover, leaving too late, and train delays. Also I thought that 'time starting' was doors opening as usually that is what is printed on a ticket)
Simple Minds (with Del Amitri as the opening act, albeit I missed 15-20 minutes of them due to misleading times posted online, and on my ticket) at Manchester Arena
