You have no enemies, you say? Alas, my friend, the boast is poor. He who has mingled in the fray of duty that the brave endure, must have made foes. If you have none, small is the work that you have done. You’ve hit no traitor on the hip. You’ve dashed no cup from perjured lip. You’ve never turned the wrong to right. You’ve been a coward in the fight. ~ CM

Topic ban violation

[edit]

Hello. This edit appears to be a topic ban violation broadly construed, as it links from Journal of Genocide Research to A. Dirk Moses, where both articles touch on ARBPIA. Please self revert. Nehushtani (talk) 07:43, 10 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) @Nehushtani: That's not how it works. If the article is wholly about ARBPIA, then any edit to it falls under the ban. If the article isn't, then the ban covers edits that substantively pertain to ARBPIA. Journal of Genocide Research is not wholly about ARBPIA, and wikilinking an existing reference to A. Dirk Moses does not constitute any substantive reference to ARBPIA, so there is no violation here. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|🤷) 10:25, 10 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for explaining this. Sorry I misunderstood. Nehushtani (talk) 11:09, 10 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Edit

[edit]

I removed the section because there was a lot of questionable information, and I planned to redo the section and find better sources. The edit was not disruptive nor was it meant to be. Firekong1 (talk) 15:15, 23 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Firekong1: I should have manually noted that the actual problem was that it was unexplained. In the form that the edit took, there was no way to assess it due to the lack of an edit summary. Iskandar323 (talk) 20:14, 23 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Should I remove it with an edit summary? Firekong1 (talk) 22:20, 23 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Why not improve it in situ? It's great to have a plan to improve a section, but if you're not doing that immediately, the only result is a loss of material, even if it might be questionable based on your impression. Alternatively, if you are convinced there are problems with the current sourced content, but you don't have an immediate time budget to address them, tagging the section or specific statements for the appropriate issue(s) may be a suitable interim step that would come with the added benefit of alerting readers to the need for caution and potentially drawing the attention of other editors to any issues. The latter would also be supported by starting a discussion on the talk page. Iskandar323 (talk) 08:24, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, I’ll start a discussion and edit a few sentences. Firekong1 (talk) 08:14, 25 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
