My latest Wikipedia pursuits are list in the box to the right.
I am interested in local history and biographies of early settlers in Iredell County, North Carolina. I find the the colonial period of America and U.S. American Revolution a fascinating period of time to explore. It is astounding how much information is available today through the Internet on the colonial time period.
I am an advanced novice Wiki markup user and love learning new ways to add and format content. Thank goodness for the bots and kind users that help find my typos and spelling mistakes. I welcome your feedback.
I have written three books on family history:
- 2018, Ancestors and Descendants of Andrew Madej (1885-1958) and Mary Fura (1888-1934), Andrew and Mary were first generation Americans who were born in Galicia, Austria (now Poland) and settled in Amsterdam, New York in the early 20th century[1]
- 2023, History of the Ancestors and Descendants of James N. Moore (1811-1874), Iredell and Rowan County, North Carolina, including Gillespie and Bowman Maternal Ancestors, James lived in Rowan County and Iredell County and was one of the early members of the Fifth Creek Presbyterian Church in Iredell County[1]
- 2025, Adam Campbell Family History, Scotch-Irish Ancestry and 19th Century American Migration, Adam Campbell was migrated from Culpeper County, Colony of Virginia to Rowan County, North Carolina before the American Revolution. The book includes a Y-DNA analysis of his ancestors and children, lives of his neighbors, and significant events in the lives of four generations of his eight children, as wells as known African-American slaves.[2] (See Perciphull Campbell and Perciphull Campbell House)
These are a few of my favorite books and movies:
- Lawrence of Arabia (film) by David Lean, 1962
- Richard Rhodes (1986). The Making of the Atomic Bomb.
