Just stating inaccuracy

! - 1st Version of Windows to ship installed on PC's --> Wrong... The Amstrad 2000 series all shipped with 2.11 -at least a year before 3.0 was available.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Erlyrisa (talkcontribs) 16:43, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The current version of the article doesn't say that anymore, as the Marketing section is gone. – wbm1058 (talk) 16:51, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What is the purpose of the section on 'New South Whales'?

[edit]

I'm not sure if something is missing from the article or if this is just misplaced from some other article; I don't see how the misspelling of New South Wales as 'New South Whales' relates to the history of Windows 3.0. ERROR618 (talk) 06:56, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Should this Windows logo be featured on the article? I'm not sure it was ever widely used to represent Windows 3.0.

The file links to this scan of a CD of a beta version of Windows NT 3.1, which as well as being unreleased is also not Windows 3.0.

One of the developers at the time gives some input here: https://x.com/bradsilverberg/status/1584760269414494208

"In 1990 there was no official Windows logo. Many different logos were used by various groups (esp Sales and Mktg) in the company. The 3.1 logo was made the official one that all groups in the company used."

So far all I've managed to find is this promotional watch:

https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-microsoft-windows-0-watch-1865625003
and this pin with a color variation of the logo:

I wouldn't count that as evidence the logo was widely used—unlike Windows 3.1 where the flag logo was featured prominently on the packaging, throughout the OS, etc.
