Merge proposal
[edit]I propose merging PBA on ABC into PBA on One Sports. ABC-5 rebranded as TV5 in 2008, and since the TV5 Network handled the coverage since 2011, it would make sense for the ABC article to be merged into the One Sports article as a "first incarnation" of the broadcasts. - I'd be interested on how this will be done. The PBA coverage during the ABC Sports era, while indeed was with now TV5, ABS/TV5 was owned by someone else (not MVP) during this time. Also, the PBA on ABC article is long enough, if it'll be merged, it'll be split again due to size. You can argue the "ABC Sports" then and "One Sports" now are separate entities. I'd be interested on how other people think about this, though. Howard the Duck (talk) 00:13, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- Looking at NBA on ABC, a sorta similar case, where the ABC aired the NBA in the 60s until 1973, then again in the 21st century, the NBA on ABC article solely discusses games airing on the main ABC network. I suppose we can do that here. Howard the Duck (talk) 15:54, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, the only point of contention is the rebranding, as ABC-5 rebranded to TV5 the moment the initial broadcast stint ended. Since I made the initial statement, I nowadays don't think it would make sense but I still won't rule out a potential merge. MarcusAbacus (talk) 11:55, 1 September 2025 (UTC)

PBA on One Sports → One Sports coverage of the PBA – I was looking at the new ABS-CBN coverage of the UAAP article, and now that I think about it, has the PBA on One Sports always been called PBA on One Sports? Although the games were previously broadcast on the One Sports channel, I couldn't find any sources that mention it being called that. Plus, with games airing via RPTV and PBA Rush on television today, it makes the title somewhat confusing. MarcusAbacus (talk) 12:20, 1 September 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. - If we're following the UAAP example, this should be entitled "TV5 Network coverage of the PBA". In the AKTV days, it was called "PBA sa AKTV" (Tagalog for PBA on AKTV; see the logo on this article). Now that the show is on RPTV, I'm not entirely sure how it is now called. - I think that title you suggested may be more fitting for this article should the renaming push through. It could better generally describe the PBA broadcasts under the TV5 era. MarcusAbacus (talk) 14:36, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
