Trailing dots in domain column
[edit]All of the domains listed are followed by a single period. This seems unrepresentative of any domain names (the periods reliably being placed BETWEEN instead of BEHIND), so unless there's a technical reason, I would suggest removing these periods. 2602:301:7764:AC00:F5E3:719F:F462:B54B (talk) 10:44, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
- Apparently, a trailing dot is formally required to form a fully qualified domain name. However, these are often omitted, and even the relevant RFCs usually omit them. The only one I saw that included the trailing dot was RFC 8375 (".home.arpa.").
- Note that in addition to removing the trailing dots, I've also added leading dots to table entries where appropriate, based on the RFC contents, so if anyone wishes to revert the change, please bear that in mind.
