Taxon assignments

These sugenus assignments may not be correct. This reference http://www.science.smith.edu/msi/pdf/i0076-3519-273-01-0001.pdf places the camas pocket gopher in a different subgenus than currently listed.—Gaff ^ταλκ 03:35, 13 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Genus Thomomys being reorganized

The American Society of Mammalogists (mammaldiversity.org) has promoted the Megascapheus sub-genus to be a genus in it's own right. iNaturalist has followed suit. Does Wikipedia have a preferred taxonomic authority for mammals, or does it roll it's own? Dawfedora (talk) 17:33, 21 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
