Add ‘OLY’ post-nominal after Simone’s name?

[edit]

Olympic champions are now entitled to have the post-nominal ‘OLY’ added after their name. Shouldn’t that be added to Simone’s name on the article then?

Unless of course, she’s gone on record as having declined it. I’m not sure if that has happened or not myself. But maybe somebody else is? ZachM097 (talk) 22:56, 6 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

One of the greatest Olympians of all time

[edit]

None of the sources listed to reference this claim mention that she's one of the greatest Olympians of all time, and that's not even obvious given that she's only in 27th place on the all-time list of Olympic medalists. So, better sources that directly support this claim are needed or it should be removed as it's apparently original research.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 11:54, 31 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved the bundle earlier to attach it to the claim it supports, "widely regarded as one of the greatest gymnasts of all time", and changed the tag to cn Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 14:18, 31 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Why is there absolutely ZERO information about her brother?

[edit]

Simone Biles's brother, Tevin Biles-Thomas, was charged for a shootout that left three people dead in a New Year's Eve shooting in Cleveland, and then was acquitted. Why is there ZERO information about that in this article (her family in her personal life section, her reaction to the event)? This is highly publicized news.

And why is there ZERO information about him or this shooting in Wikipedia at all? 2600:1012:A024:21CA:4689:AE31:E7E4:87BC (talk) 21:50, 3 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe because the murder charges were dismissed and he was aquitted of all the other charges? A non event really. Knitsey (talk) 21:53, 3 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
How is an official court proceeding about a murder case a non-event? Does an acquittal verdict automatically render all criminal cases not notable? That is not so.
She has a brother; this belongs in her personal life section. There was a shooting in 2019, and three people were killed. There was a publicized news case where this brother of this famous athlete was charged. Simone Biles has spoken up about this shooting. These are noteworthy and sourced events that can and should be included on the page.
How is it that there is absolutely no information on Simone Biles's page (or in the wiki at all)? 2600:1012:A024:21CA:4689:AE31:E7E4:87BC (talk) 22:14, 3 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Biles began her elite gymnastics career at age 14 on July 1, 2011, at the 2011 American Classic in Houston. She placed third all-around, first on vault and balance beam, fourth on floor exercise, and eighth on uneven bars.[31] Later that month, Biles competed at the 2011 U.S. Classic in Chicago, Illinois, where she placed 20th all-around, fifth on balance beam and floor exercise.[32][33]

[edit]

She clearly got 5th of Vault and Floor exercise. the check the links to the pdfs (archive) 200.45.94.63 (talk) 23:49, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
