Er, you mean how like RedOctane ruined Guitar Freaks? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.233.102.117 (talk) 14:44, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wow...I wasn't even aware this was a forum. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.35.57.204 (talk) 08:50, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Picture

[edit]

If we're going to put a picture in the article, can it at least be relevant? All the current picture shows is a TV and a guy in front of it. The "dance pad" it claims to show is nowhere to be seen (camera isn't aimed low enough). teh TK 21:26, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

After "investigating" the picture, it is a "vandalism" which wasn't notice. It is just a guy that wants to post pictures of himself on this site. Sadly, it was left in this article for several months. I wouldn't have caught it if Activision bought this company. ;-P Oh well, this is another example one of the flaws of Wikipedia. 1 million+ "articles" and it is hard to maintain for just a couple of thousands volunteers --Who What Where Nguyen Why 04:14, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Padmissed"

[edit]

Is "padmissed" even a word? Can someone who knows for sure what this means correct it, if in fact there's anything to this statement in the first place? --Stellmach 17:39, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:RedOctane (logo).PNG

[edit]

Image:RedOctane (logo).PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:06, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New RedOctane is NOT the same or continuation of old!

[edit]

This is a situation more comparable to Telltale Games, where a wholly new business entity took the name legally and opened. There we have sepearate articles Telltale Games (defunct) and telltale Games (2018-present) (current).

If the new RO merits a notable standalone article we will likely do the same for that. However, with just it's announcement it doesn't make sense to create that at this time. Masem (t) 17:49, 6 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Might want to revert "RedOctane Games, LLC (formerly RedOctane, Inc.)" back to "RedOctane, Inc." since RedOctane Games, LLC is the new company. Maybe the new company could have its own section in this article until it warrants its own article? Probably worth mentioning somewhere, at least the last paragraph in the history section should stay in my opinion. Some articles like Pebble (watch) and Commodore International have similar sections about new brand or company revivals. Lexd2g (talk) 21:08, 6 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
