Cleanup, part 1

[edit]

I've just changed the article in a non-trivial way to make it read less like a marketing page. I didn't change much in the way of facts, but a lot of stuff moved and (non-factual) material was deleted. Someone needs to come up with some references for this article, as it's almost void of them now. -- BillWeiss | Talk 22:05, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please change a detail in his recording history: Murderers & Robbers (2000) came out after Getty Green (1998), BUT it is rather a compilation of older recordings (1995-1998) project pat did BEVORE his first solo release. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.6.152.112 (talk) 11:56, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Appeal2-1-.jpg

[edit]

Image:Appeal2-1-.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 19:51, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Birth name?

[edit]

Is his birth name Nathan Vawter or Patrick Houston? Most early articles reference Patrick Houston so I'm wondering what the source is for Nathan Vawter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.209.167.218 (talk) 12:09, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Requested edits – Project Pat (updates from manager)

[edit]

Hello editors,

I am Project Pat’s manager, and I have a conflict of interest, so I am not editing the article directly. I would like to request the following updates, with reliable sources provided:

1. Personal Life Update to reflect: In 2018, Project Pat married Alicia Houston. [1] [2] The couple co-founded the Breakin Baggs Foundation, a nonprofit focused on faith-based outreach in prisons, schools, churches, and communities.[3]

Thank you in advance for reviewing these requests. Gloriakorlou (talk) 16:56, 5 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at the sources, 1 (Xclusive Memphis) doesn't have any hallmarks of a reliable source. 2 (What?) failed WP:V... got a better link? And 3 (Breakin Baggs) is both a self-publication and a sales site. We cannot use those to support any encyclopedic content. No matter how much I completely believe the relationship genuinely exists. In this case, actually X/Twitter or Instagram would be better. JFHJr () 03:48, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
[4] works for "married as of 2021." Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 04:58, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
When I follow that link, I don't find any mention of marriage. In fact, it's not this subject's Instagram account, is it? Someone saying she's his spouse is a little different to the subject saying he is married to so-and-so. JFHJr () 17:29, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Are you sure you clicked the right link, JFHJr? The link provided by Gråbergs Gråa Sång is to Project Pat's verified Instagram, where he encourages his followers to wish his wife a happy birthday. I'd say this can suffice in the article as a reference for a brief mention of him being married per WP:BLPSELFPUB. JeffSpaceman (talk) 19:54, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Now I see it is the subject's insta and the word "wife". I'm using a different device and browser now, logged out of the app, and it looks very different. Not sure why my view from work was so different. 'Pologies, @Gråbergs Gråa Sång and @JeffSpaceman! Cheers. JFHJr () 21:29, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, IG definitely looks different from my computer to my phone. I couldn't access the text of the post on my phone, but on my computer, I could read it. Could this work as a citation for the statement that he is married? JeffSpaceman (talk) 22:12, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I edit from a laptop, these viewing differences can be quite annoying for communication, for stuff off and on WP. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 06:35, 1 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Looks ok to me! JFHJr () 22:15, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Really appreciate you clarifying. @Gråbergs Gråa Sång@JeffSpaceman if we can please get this updated, that would be much appreciated. Gloriakorlou (talk) 01:13, 3 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not totally sure how to approach citing the Instagram post, even though the text could read "Houston is married as of 2021." I will state that I do not believe his wife should be specifically named per WP:BLPNAME, but the proposed wording will likely suffice. Pinging @Gråbergs Gråa Sång: and @JFHJr:, who might be able to help out as far as a citation. JeffSpaceman (talk) 23:48, 3 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Normally, simply naming a spouse is not WP:UNDUE. Again, I might need to try multiple devices, but I don't see her name in the insta post. Adding one with it as the sole source would be WP:NOR. I think all we can make of it is the terming you put in quote marks above. Cheers. JFHJr () 00:15, 4 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That post doesn't seem to mention her name, and even if it did, BLPNAME + WP:ABOUTSELF is fairly clear we shouldn't use it per that source. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 04:04, 4 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
