Overemphasis on Spermatophytes?
[edit]A casual reading of this article seems to imply that plant embryogenesis is a process which only takes place for seed-bearing plants. There is no mention of ferns, marchantiophyta, or anthocerotophyta by either their scientific or common name. The definition that "Plant embryogenesis is a process that occurs after the fertilization of an ovule to produce a fully developed plant embryo." seems to also imply this because ovules are only found in spermatophytes (according to the Wikipedia entry). My suspicion is that the process is generalizable to non-vascular plants but it is possible that this is the true definition. I don't know for sure. In any case, clarification is necessary. Article is about eudicots, why is it titled "Plant..."?
[edit]The article is not simply focusing just on seed plants; the morphogenesis section is actually only about eudicots! So it's not covering monocots, let alone gymnosperms and ... all other plants. We should either rename the article, or extend it to cover other plant groups. Chiswick Chap (talk) 07:31, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
