Anchors and redirects

[edit]

In the precomposed-characters chart, I want to add anchor names for each character, for example {{anchor|T_with_line_below}} in the entry for Ṯ. Then I want to request a change so that the redirect of Ṯ goes to [[Macron_below#T_with_line_below]]. (Currently the redirect of goes to Macron below.) Perhaps a separate article for each letter would work too, but some letters don't look notable. Anybody support or oppose? Peter Gulutzan (talk) 17:01, 8 September 2025 (UTC) Update:I added the anchors with edit summary = "Added anchors on precomposed Ḇ Ḏ ẖ Ḵ Ḻ Ṉ Ṟ Ṯ Ẕ. I intend to ask for redirection to the anchors rather than the page. See talk page = Anchors and redirects." In a week or two or three. Peter Gulutzan (talk) 19:47, 22 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

To get started: for Ṯ: On this article page, I did not change {{anchor:...}} to {{subst:Anchor...}} because, as far as I could tell from WP:TARGET, that's only a serious concern if the anchor is at a section heading. On the redirect page, I did not change {R from Unicode}} because it is still "Redirect from Unicode character". I changed the redirect page for , I put a hidden comment under the anchor <!-- "Ṯ" redirects here. -->. I acknowledge that the redirection doesn't go exactly where I'd like within the page, but still think this is an improvement. If there are no complaints about this, I will repeat the process for the other letters, in a week or two or three. Peter Gulutzan (talk) 22:26, 29 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I repeated the process for Ḇ Ḏ Ḵ Ḻ Ṉ Ṟ Ẕ. I think I'm done. Peter Gulutzan (talk) 15:41, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
