I feel the removed shows deserve to be on another streaming site or whatever cause it's really hard to watch some that have been removed, and the only Disney+ series on another streaming site is Doctor Who on amazon, So anyone agree they should do it? 198.217.122.254 (talk) 04:23, 22 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
From my understanding this is now being simulcast on Disney Plus under a special deal, not just on demand after airing on ABC. https://www.vulture.com/article/dancing-with-the-stars-ratings-2025-season.htmlThe tile on Disney Plus shows it as a Disney Plus original, so not sure it's correct for it to be under the ended category.
Nope, it's got an ABC logo for me. And it's first-run on ABC regardless of the logo, which would make it a Disney+ exclusive, not an original. Nisf (talk) 01:52, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Nisf For me it has a Disney + Original logo on the tile in the upper right (see screenshot at right). And it's simultaneous, not first run. It's a special deal with the affiliates. newsjunkie (talk) 01:56, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
ABC and Disney+ simultaneously: seasons 32-present (2023-present)
As noted in this May 2023 Good Morning America article as well as this press release, it is the first live series simulcast on ABC and Disney+. Also noting that upon searching 'dancing with the stars' on Disney+, the image displayed does indeed label it as a Disney+ Original.
Honestly not quite sure how all of that should be handled with regards to this article, but hopefully the information helps clarifying this all. I'd personally say that the 'moved to other channels for first-run episodes' note is incorrect, since it is indeed simultaneous on both platforms. As far as Disney+-only, yes, that would be considered 'Ended' programming, but given the circumstances regarding this show, it should likely be under Current programming with a note explaining its single season Disney+ exclusivity, as well as its ABC/Disney+ simultaneous live episodes since the following season. I was not aware it was simultaneous – I thought it was in the same bucket as other ABC/Disney linear programming, where it was released on Disney+ the next day. In that case, I agree with moving it up with a footnote. Nisf (talk) 01:30, 20 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
