Note regarding the figure under “Theory”

In the depicted energy diagram, it appears that the energy difference ΔG between the enantiomers is shown.

However, ΔG = 0, since enantiomers are energetically equivalent in an achiral environment.

The key factor determining enantioselectivity is the difference in transition-state energies (ΔΔG‡).
