JFK assassination

[edit]

Read the book ‘Betrayal in Dallas’ by Mark North. 2600:8800:B6A1:9B00:1C46:41F9:9C22:F365 (talk) 04:26, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Date of Birth

[edit]

Apparently this is more complicated than you'd first expect. Wouldn't the tombstone be the most reliable source since his family were directly involved? Risk.exe (talk) 22:38, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tombstones have been wrong before. Joan Crawford, Sam Cooke and John Ford all have the wrong year on their tombstone. DrKilleMoff (talk) 10:47, 4 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

"boyfriend"

[edit]

In traditional Chicago dialect. this term is wellknown to mean just a male friend, with no homosexual connotation 2600:8801:D00A:4600:B518:ACDD:53D8:E2A8 (talk) 14:32, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Jack Ruby and Journalist Dorothy Kilgallen left out of Ruby Bio.

[edit]

The relationship and investigation by journalist Dorothy Kilgallen was completely left out of the Bio. of Jack Ruby here on Wilipedia......She was near the truth about his connection to JFK's assassination; when she suddenly committed suicide (although friends said she was "incapable of suicide").... 68.226.173.166 (talk) 08:25, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The "connection" between those two is fairly tenuous (at best). The claims she interviewed him alone are not substantiated. Even more certain is the fact virtually no one said Kilgallen killed herself. The police felt it could have been a accidental. People using/abusing barbiturates do accidentally OD sometimes.Rja13ww33 (talk) 18:58, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"Unfounded"?

[edit]

The lead asserts that speculation there might have been more to Ruby's decision to kill Oswald than just a sudden impulse is "unfounded". That may well be the case but it's unknowable. I propose changing the wording to something more neutral and encyclopaedic such as "not supported by any evidence". Brooklyn Eagle (talk) 00:43, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Armored car, (truck)

[edit]

The armored car, did not roll down the ramp and hit Ruby's leg after the time of the shooting. That vehicle couldnt back any farther down the ramp than the low hanging ventilation hood part way on the ramp. That hood made it impossible for the vehicle to back any further down the ramp. The armored vehicle was driven out, and the Chief of Homicide's un-marked car had been driven down the ramp where the reporters were gathered at the bottom, and while the vehicle was still moving, the front left bumper of that vehicle, made contact with Ruby's leg after he fired his gun and shot Oswald. Edited my first statement. Watch any offical video of the event, it was a car, not a armored truck or ambulance. ~2025-35267-69 (talk) 05:42, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please direct us to a reliable source that verifies these claims. cheers. anastrophe, an editor he is. 07:40, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If you re-watch the broadcasted video of the shooting of Oswald. Its an automobile not a truck. The ambulance was called after Oswald was wounded, not before. The Chief of Detectives, Homicide, ordered that his unmarked police car, be driven down the ramp to transport, as a replacement for a armored truck that because of its height, was unable to back down the ramp. Facts that are not printed in any article, but visual evidence from video. As far as the Chief of Homicide calling for his police provided car, he was in charge of the transfer details. Thank you. ~2025-35267-69 (talk) 14:15, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Facts that are not printed in any article, but visual evidence from video. This clearly constitutes WP:OR and therefore cannot be used on Wikipedia. Carguychris (talk) 14:54, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed - but there's a secondary problem. The info currently in the article is unsourced, as best as I can tell from the two sources provided at the end of the paragraph. So, the narrative about the armored vehicle or whatever may be in itself older OR. I'm going to put a citereq on that part of it. cheers. anastrophe, an editor he is. 18:48, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Birth month

[edit]

Now and then, several users keep changing Ruby's birth month from March to April and back again. So far, the article says that "The Warren Commission found that various dates were given in the records for Ruby's birth; the one most used by Ruby himself was March 25, 1911. His grave marker has April 25, 1911, as his birthdate." Should we try to find a consensus as to what month we could use? ~2025-36614-80 (talk) 03:23, 27 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
