Off target

WRT "In modern computers, binary data refers to any data represented in binary form rather than interpreted on a higher level or converted into some other form" is pretty far off the mark. In some sense, all data in a (modern) computer is binary data. But we don't use the term binary data in that way. ... You can represent data as binary (1100101), but that's rarely done. The main thing we refer to when we talk about binary data is the values in memory (which I would not call a representation) and very specifically that the values are not restricted to a character encoding scheme.
