Sevendials are a British band formed by former The Mission and Mob Research guitarist Mark Thwaite, formerly of Revolting Cocks, and Murder, Inc. singer Chris Connelly, and Killing Joke drummer Paul Ferguson.[1]
The band released their first single "Zodiac Morals"[2] on 28 February 2025 along with a lyric video, which was followed by their debut album A Crash Course In Catastrophe[3] on 11 April 2025 on Creation Youth Records, the label imprint by Killing Joke bassist Youth and Creation Records founder Alan McGee, distributed by Cadiz.[4]
A second single, a cover of Sparks' "The Number One Song in Heaven" was also released to coincide with the album on 11 April. The song release was accompanied by a music video.[5][6][7]
The band's third single was an electronic metal cover version of the band Animotion's single, "Obsession", featuring guest vocals by NYC latex burlesque performer, DJ and solo artist Ashley Bad.[8] The "Obsession" EP featured two additional remixes by Martin "Youth" Glover of Killing Joke, as well as a promo music video[9] - the first to feature live performances from all members of the band together with Ashley Bad.
A fourth single 'Wolves' was subsequently released on 8th August 2025 featuring an industrial metal remix by Travis Bacon of Contracult Collective, son of actor Kevin Bacon. The release was accompanied by a lyric video created by CG artist Dan Santoni.[10]

Critical reception
[edit]Louder Than War gave the album 4.5/5,[12] saying "a cracking debut from this trio of legends who can still command a tune or ten." RPM Magazine said "There's not a weak song on 'A Crash Course In Catastrophe', in fact it's a record that gets stronger the more you play it."[13] UBER-Rock said "'A Crash Course In Catastrophe' is an accomplished, diverse, dark, powerful and intense piece of work, worthy of the reputations of each individual band member, and highly recommended if you're a fan of any of their previous work."[14] Regen Magazine summarized their review with "Sevendials crafted an album that stands among the best any of them have ever been involved in... and given their extensive pedigrees, that's saying a lot."[15]
