Sergio Gonella (23 May 1933 – 19 June 2018) was an Italian bank manager and association football referee. He was the first Italian referee a FIFA World Cup final[1] in 1978.[2] He, along with Swiss referee Gottfried Dienst, are the only people to have refereed a UEFA European Championship final and a FIFA World Cup final. In 2013, he was added to the Italian Football Hall of Fame.[3]
