Prashant Madanmohan (born: 7 January 1985), known by his pen name Dr. Leander, born in Thanjavur (Tamil Nadu), is an Indian orthopedic surgeon, author, and health innovator. He is the founder of the Cognishift.org platform, which promotes exchanges between medicine, philosophy and the arts.He is primarily recognized for his work on cognitive control, memory, and philosophy applied to medicine.[1]
Biography
[change | change source]Madanmohan completed his medical studies at Yerevan State Medical University, where he obtained a degree in medicine. He is registered in the Indian Medical Register.He continued his training in India at the Madras Medical College and obtained certification for the DNB exam in orthopedics from the National Board of Examinations in New Delhi.
Medical and scientific career
[change | change source]He also published many works on preparing for competitive examinations for subspecialty exams in orthopedics.[2] Initially a practicing orthopedist, he developed an interest in cognitive enhancement techniques, which he explored in his book The Monk With A Stethoscope (2023).[3]

[change | change source]Madanmohan's literary work combines spirituality, history, and memory. He is notably the author of:
- The Monk With A Stethoscope (2023), a philosophical memoir on the mastery of mind and memory [4][5]
- Armenian Spiritual Sanctuaries (2023), on Armenian monasteries, supported by the Indian Embassy in Armenia.[6]
- Armenian Legacy in India (2024), a cultural study supported by the Avetik Isahakyan Cultural Center.
- The God of Deserted Memories (2025), a novel about shared memory between India, France and Armenia [7][8]
He is also the author of a biography of Armenian impressionist artist Lems Nersisyan published in 2023 [9]
CogniShift
[change | change source]In 2023, he founded Cognishift.org, an institute promoting transdisciplinary dialogues between medicine, memory, art and philosophy. The organization also launched the CogniShift Excellence Awards.[10]

[change | change source]Madanmohan writes under the pseudonym "Dr. Leander » and is the author of:[5] The Monk with a Stethoscope (2023): a philosophical memoir book.[11] Armenian Spiritual Sanctuaries - The Armenian Spiritual Sanctuaries, a comprehensive study of Armenian monasteries, was sponsored by the Embassy of India in Yerevan.[12][13] Armenian Legacy in India - Armenian Heritage in India (2024) was sponsored by the Avetik Isahakyan Central Cultural Centre ,Armenia.[14][15]
he God of Deserted Memories (2025) is a novel that explores the French-Armenian-Indian cultural heritage. His presentation at the Lalit Kala Akademi in Chennai was covered by the Business Standard and ThePrint, and diplomatic missions of France and Armenia congratulated him.[16][17][18]
He also wrote about the Armenian Genocide . The book was critically acclaimed by renowned artist Lems Nersisyan.[6] He also wrote a biography of Armenian artist-educator Lems Nersisyan in English in 2023 in Chennai, India.[19] Dr. Prashant Madanmohan is the author of The Monk with a Stethoscope, which combines medical knowledge with spiritual wisdom, offering insights into mind control, memory mastery, and the transcendental plane of existence.[4] In the book, he writes about the legacy of Armenia and the rich culture of the Armenian people. His inspirational stories from his stay in Armenia.
Critical reception
An article published in Forward Pathway magazine, “Intercultural artistic practices: reshaping identity and heritage in the digital age", salutes Dr. Madanmohan's contribution to the fusion of traditional motifs and new media forms as "a functional bridge between the past and the present", highlighting his influence on literary and artistic communities.[15][20]
Prashant Madanmohan also coordinated :
- "The God of Deserted Memories" Saturday Art and Literature Festival held at Lalit Kala Akademi in May 2025, presenting 42 original works by Mari Poghosyan and featuring diplomats from France and Armenia.[21]
