Quora: When will Unicode encode “Latin Extended-F” block?

Roadmap to Unicode’s SMP. The Latin Extended-F is to be in SMP.

The Unicode standard has proposed and created a block called “Latin Extended-F” in the SMP for unencoded latin characters. It is a extension of Latin-script languages which are not encoded in Unicode. May include precomposed diacritical Latin characters, various uncommon symbols, ligatures, etc. There are various fonts in PUA which include Latin letters (such as Junicode, Aboriginal/African [Sans/Serif], Charis SIL, etc.). The SMP has a large body of reserved code points so it can be enough Latin Extended-F,G,H,I,J,…’s to encode. Make it real!

Fonts included:

  • Junicode
  • Wingdings
