Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND)[1] is a sub-office of the ASA(ALT).
The Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense is the Joint Service’s lead for development, acquisition, fielding and life-cycle support of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense equipment and medical countermeasures.[2][3]
Other components of the JPEO-CBRND are the Joint Project Management for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Medical (JPM CBRN Medical) and the Joint Project Lead for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense Enabling Biotechnologies.[2]
The JPEO-CBRND is part of the Biosurveillance Ecosystem (BSVE) program of the Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Threat Reducation Agency's (DTRA) Joint Science and Technology Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JSTO-CBD), together with Homeland Security's National Biosurveillance Integration Center.[4]
In February 2022, JPEO-CBRN assistant product manager Leanne A. Chacon was the recipient of the Chemical and Biological Defense individual-junior award and chief technical officer Christopher Earnhart received the individual-senior award.[5]
