Use of Microsoft copyrighted content

Requirements for allowed uses
For permission to be granted by Microsoft for any uses allowed by these guidelines, you must comply with the following four requirements:
  1. If your use includes references to a Microsoft product, you must use the full name of the product. When referencing any Microsoft trademarks, follow the General Microsoft Trademark Guidelines.

Screenshots
If you wish to benefit from Microsoft's automatic permission grant, you may not use screenshots of Microsoft product boot-up screens, opening screens, "splash screens", or screens from beta release products or other products that have not been commercially released. You may use other screenshots in advertising, in documentation (including educational brochures), in tutorial books, in videotapes, or on Web sites, provided that, in addition to the requirements above, you:
  1. Do not alter the screenshot except to resize it.

Use rationale

Article

Text Services Framework

Purpose of use

The image is used to identify Language Bar, a component of Windows XP which is a notable product or service. The significance of the image is to help the reader identify the Language Bar, assure the readers that they have reached the right article, and illustrate the component in a way that words alone could not convey.

Replaceable?

Possible but not probable. Because it is a screenshot of a proprietary software there is almost certainly no free equivalent. However, an expert on the subject may be able to draw a diagram that conveys the meaning (without tarnishing the accuracy of the subject of the article) and contribute it to Wikipedia.
