Faheem Abdullah (born 29 September 1997) is an Indian multidisciplinary artist from Srinagar, Kashmir, known for his creative work across music, cinema and literature. He is a writer-director, filmmaker, singer-songwriter, poet, orator and event manager. Faheem writes and performs in multiple languages including English, Urdu and Kashmiri.[1]
Career
[edit]In 2019, Faheem co-founded Mad in Kashmir, a Srinagar-based film production house aimed at fostering creative storytelling and promoting Kashmiri talent.[2]
He made his directorial debut with the music video Baalyaaro (2020), followed by Jhelum (2020), which also marked his debut as a singer-songwriter. Both projects were produced under the Mad in Kashmir banner.
Faheem gained widespread recognition in 2025 after performing the soulful title track "Saiyaara" for the film Saiyaara (2025), directed by Mohit Suri and starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda.[3] His performance received praise for its emotional depth and vocal texture, establishing him as one of the emerging voices from Kashmir in the Indian music industry.[4]
Following the success of Saiyaara, Faheem signed a long-term collaboration with Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series for upcoming music projects, beginning with the single Bichadna (2025).[5][6]
In interviews, Faheem has cited Aashiqui 2 and the works of composer Mohit Suri as major influences that shaped his musical journey.[7] In a statement to Mid-Day, he said, “There’s a lot more to Kashmir than romance and conflict,” highlighting his intent to represent diverse narratives through art.[8]
