Update Conference s.r.o. is a Czech company that organizes professional IT conferences and community events in Central Europe. [1]

Since 2018 it has hosted the annual Update Conference Prague, the largest .NET conference in the Czech Republic [2], featuring lectures by speakers from Europe, the United States, and other countries on topics such as .NET, cloud technologies, and security.

In 2025 the company organized the first Update Conference Kraków in Poland [3].

The company’s portfolio also includes Update Days Power Platform [4], first held in 2025, a conference dedicated to Microsoft Power Platform with a focus on administration and sustainable development. [1]

Update Conference Prague is an annual professional IT conference held in Prague, Czech Republic, since 2018. It is recognized as the largest .NET-focused conference in the country. The conference covers a broad range of topics related to Microsoft technologies, including .NET, cloud computing, software architecture, security, and other areas relevant to developers and IT professionals.

Each year, Update Conference Prague attracts speakers from Europe, the United States, and other regions, including Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs) and industry experts. Its audience consists primarily of software developers, IT architects, cloud specialists, and technical decision-makers who come to gain up-to-date knowledge, share best practices, and connect with the wider developer community.

The event also serves as a platform for networking, professional growth, and exchange of experience within the international .NET and Microsoft technology ecosystem.

History

2018
The first Update Conference Prague was held on 22–23 November 2018. The program featured 28 speakers from 14 countries, three parallel tracks with 42 sessions, and seven workshops. In addition to lectures and workshops, the event included an exhibition of Microsoft Surface devices and a presentation of ergonomic chairs by 3D Expres. [6]

Other activities included a chill-out zone provided by ITIXO, yoga sessions during breaks, and a quiet room for attendees. Conference partners such as Vistaprint, PostSharp, and Kentico organized showcases and networking opportunities. Visitors also had the chance to meet the developers of DotVVM, an open-source framework created by RIGANTI.

Notable guests included Richard Campbell and Carl Franklin, who recorded several episodes of their podcast .NET Rocks! during the conference. [7] [8] Czech podcast authors Martin Šimeček and Vojtěch Mádr from .NET.CZ also participated in the event. [9]

2019
The second Update Conference Prague was held on 14–15 November 2019. [10] It featured 32 speakers from 12 countries, offering more than 40 sessions across three parallel tracks. [11] [12] The event was preceded by a full-day workshop titled Myths and Facts of Domain-driven Design, led by Dino Esposito.

Additional activities included a chill-out zone organized by ITIXO, a “Tech & Fun Zone” prepared by RIGANTI, yoga sessions during breaks, and a quiet room. Conference partners such as Vistaprint, PostSharp, Microsoft, Sony, and 3D Expres hosted showcases, while developers of the open-source framework DotVVM, created by RIGANTI, were also present at the event.

The third Update Conference Prague was originally scheduled for 12–13 November 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Czech Republic, the event was moved online under the name Update Now 2020, held on 23–26 November 2020. [13] [14]

The online conference featured live-streamed sessions by international experts across two parallel tracks. Each day included hosts who moderated the program and conducted interviews with speakers, incorporating questions from the audience. The event was delivered through a newly developed online portal, which provided access to live sessions as well as on-demand recordings. Attendees could participate in discussions and interact with speakers.

Update Now 2020 included most of the sessions originally planned for the Prague event, supplemented with new lectures, Q&A segments, and panel discussions. The program covered topics for software architects, team leaders, and developers working on web, desktop, and mobile applications.

2021
The fourth Update Conference Prague was held on 18–19 November 2021. The program featured 32 speakers from 12 countries, offering more than 42 sessions across three parallel tracks. The event was attended by over 600 participants. [15] [16] [17]

2022
The fifth Update Conference Prague was held on 10–11 November 2022. It featured 41 speakers from 11 countries and was attended by more than 800 participants. [18] [19] [20]

2023
The sixth Update Conference Prague was held on 23–24 November 2023. The event featured 45 speakers from 12 countries, delivering 45 sessions across four halls. It was attended by more than 700 participants. [21] [22] [23]

2024

The seventh Update Conference Prague was held on 14–15 November 2024. The program featured 42 speakers from 15 countries, delivering 48 sessions across four halls. The event also included activities organized by partners, such as a chill-out zone by ITIXO and a “Tech & Fun Zone” by RIGANTI. [24] [25] [26]

Other partners included DotNetCollege, Microsoft, Lenovo, Czechitas, Similarweb, Update Courses, Partypack, Onlio Aps, DotVVM, and UNO Platform. Attendees were also able to meet the developers of DotVVM, an open-source framework developed by RIGANTI.

Update Conference Krakow

Update Conference Krakow is a professional .NET developer conference held in Kraków, Poland. [27] The first edition took place on 26–27 May 2025 and featured 37 speakers from 14 countries, delivering 44 sessions across three halls for 190+ people. The event brought together .NET developers from Poland and abroad, alongside international experts. [27]

Update Days Power Platform is an annual professional IT conference dedicated to Microsoft Power Platform, first held in 2025. The event focuses on topics such as CI/CD, developer experience, platform foundations, implementation, lifecycle management and security. [4]

It brings together international speakers and developers working with Power Platform, providing opportunities for technical learning, knowledge exchange, and networking within the global Power Platform community. [28]

2025
The first Update Days Power Platform was held on 4–5 February 2025 in Prague. The program featured 20 speakers, two parallel tracks with 19 sessions, and three full-day workshops. [29] [30]

MeetUpdate

MeetUpdate is a community initiative organized under the Update brand, aimed at connecting frontend and backend developers in the Czech Republic.[31] Regular meetups are held in cities such as Prague, [32] Brno, [33] and Ostrava. [34]

Meet Update

The program of the meetups typically includes technical lectures delivered by experts on diverse IT topics, as well as opportunities for participants to share practical experience, discuss new technologies, and exchange best practices. Attendance at the events varies, usually ranging up to 50 participants.

The concept of MeetUpdate was established to foster a local developer community, encouraging both professional development and personal networking. A small participation fee is charged, intended to ensure genuine interest among attendees while remaining symbolic in amount.

Update Courses

Update Courses is an online educational platform focused on .NET development. The platform offers courses led by experienced industry professionals, with an emphasis on practical skills applicable to real-world software development challenges. The content is designed to provide learners with both technical knowledge and applied insights relevant to the .NET ecosystem. [35]
