  • Comment: Several problems here. The first is that it looks like a resumé and indeed has been largely based on the official resumé shown as source 2.
    Secondly the criteria here is WP:BASIC which requires ideally 3 independent reliable sources for notability, with in depth coverage. Self published material does not count, nor does employers' statements. There isn't one source that meets this criteria at the moment.

Serik Gabdullovich Aubakirov (Серік Ғабдоллаұлы Әубәкіров; Серик Габдуллович Аубакиров; born 14 July 1965) is a Kazakhstani government official and Major General of the Fire Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Since 2023, he has served as Director of the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction.[1]

Early life and education

Aubakirov was born on 14 July 1965 in Shymkent, Kazakh SSR. He graduated from the Alma-Ata Fire Technical School of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs in 1985, specializing as a fire technician.[2]

In 1996, he graduated from the Almaty Higher Technical School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a qualification as a fire safety engineer. In 2007, he defended his dissertation in Saint Petersburg for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences on the topic "Improving the organizational structure of the management system of units of the Fire Service Committee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan".[2]

Early service (1985–1999)

From 1985 to 1992, Aubakirov served in fire departments in Alma-Ata, rising from inspector to head of Fire Station No. 4.[3] He continued serving in various positions within Almaty's fire service through 1999.

Leadership in Almaty

During his tenure as head of Almaty's Department of Emergency Situations (2015–2020), Aubakirov focused on seismic safety issues. In August 2016, he warned about the serious consequences of a potential earthquake in Almaty, noting that more than half of the city's buildings could be destroyed in a 9-magnitude earthquake.[5]

In 2019, he led firefighting operations for major fires in Almaty, including a fire at the Barakholka market and wildfires near Kok-Tobe.[6]

Scientific work

Aubakirov specializes in the organization of fire services and emergency management. He is the author of several scientific papers, including:

  • "Methods for standardizing the number of employees in the management apparatus of the Fire Service Committee" (2006)
  • "Mathematical models for synthesizing the organizational structure of management apparatus" (2006)
  • "Fire Safety System in the Republic of Kazakhstan" (2009)[2]

In February 2024, Aubakirov participated in a working visit to Japan as part of a delegation on disaster management issues.[7]

Personal life

Aubakirov is married to Zarema Arystanbekovna Aubakirova (born 1965). They have two sons: Nurlan (born 1986) and Sanzhar (born 1989).[2]
