Botting has been quoted in several media outlets discussing political communications. A 2024 Reuters article quoted him analyzing internal dynamics within the 2024 Conservative Party leadership election, discussing ideological divisions within the party. The UK Conservative Party faced a fierce internal battle after their defeat.[2]

He has been referenced in The Daily Telegraph in the context of political posturing and body language coaching for politicians. [3]

Dan Hodges, writing for The New Statesman, referred to Botting as a “veteran political consultant with extensive contacts among Conservative backbenchers” in relation to the No to AV referendum campaign.[4]
