Passwd.team is a subscription-based password manager developed by Passwd s.r.o., a software company based in Prague, Czech Republic.[1] The service is primarily intended for organizations using Google Workspace, offering tools for storing, sharing, and generating passwords.[2] It can be deployed either as a self-hosted solution within a customer's Google Cloud Platform environment or as a software-as-a-service product managed by the vendor.[3]
Overview
[edit]The project was initially developed by the Czech software company Ackee.[4] It was later spun off into an independent company, Passwd s.r.o., which continues to develop and maintain the service.[4]
Passwd.team integrates with Google Workspace to manage user access. The software allows teams to store encrypted credentials, share them among members, and access them through web and browser-based interfaces.[2] It is distributed through the Google Workspace Marketplace.[5]
Passwd doesn't rely solely on vendor-hosted infrastructure, but also allows storing records within a Google Cloud project controlled by the customer. Each organization using Passwd.team operates within an isolated project that contains dedicated storage resources and encryption keys.[6] Encryption is implemented through Google Key Management Service. Data decryption can occur only within the customer's environment, limiting administrative access by the provider. Communication between clients and the service uses HTTPS and REST API.[2]
