Draft:Descending life line
Descending life lines (Korean: 완강기; Hanja: 緩降機) are safety apparatuses found in South Korea for escaping fire in high-rise buildings. Like auto belays used in rock climbing, it slowly lowers the user to the ground with their own weight.
Usage
[edit]- Hook the apparatus to the specialized arm.
- Push the arm outside the window.
- Throw the spool outside the window.
- Equip the belt at shoulder height, tucking the belt under the armpits.
- Fasten the safety ring towards the torso.
- Descend while pushing against the wall with outstretched arms.[1]
