Arbisoft is a software development company based in Plano, Texas, United States. Founded in 2007, it also operates offices in Pakistan, Germany, and Saudi Arabia.[1]

History

The company was founded by Yasser Bashir in 2007. In interviews, Bashir cited interests in solving computing problems as a main factor for establishing the company.[2] Arbisoft's early work centered on software development for technology startups before it began serving international clients.[3]

In 2013, the company started working with the open source learning platform Open edX.[4] Arbisoft's engineers contributed code to the platform and it's services has been used by MIT, Philanthropy University and edX itself. This work led to the creation of Edly, a commercial learning management system that utilizes Open edX technology.[5] Another product, ListenTool, was developed as an internal feedback tool, which was later made a standalone product.[3] The company has pursued further growth through acquisition of firms.[6]

Operations

The company provides custom software development services, with clients majorly in education and travel sectors. It's past and current clients include Amazon, Microsoft, edX and KAYAK.[7][8]

Awards and recognition

Arbisoft received award from Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA). In 2014, it was the runner-up in the association gender diversity category.[9] The following year, it won P@SHA award in e-learning category.[10]

The company appeared on the Arabia Fast Growth 500 list from 2008 to 2010, ranking 13th among Pakistani companies features. [11]
