Andrew S. Fox is an American businessman. He founded Charge Enterprises Inc., a publicly traded company focused on electric vehicle charging stations and broadband infrastructure. He also founded and led Clubplanet/Track Entertainment and has served as Managing Partner of Alliance Building Services.[2][3][4]
Early life and education
[edit]Andrew S. Fox was born in Queens, New York City, and raised in Tampa.[5][6] He is the son of a union electrician.[2][7] He earned a B.B.A. in accounting from Adelphi University in 1995.[8][9]
Career
[edit]Fox began as an analyst at Sanford Bernstein.[10] The site expanded with niche sites such as Newyears.com and NocheLatino.com and by 2004 reported millions of users and tens of thousands of events listed across U.S. markets.[11][9]
In 2002, Fox acquired Track Entertainment and became its CEO; Track operated Clubplanet and related sites.[12][13][14] The company pursued event marketing, reported growing revenues and sought other media acquisitions, including an unsuccessful 2009 bid for Maxim.[15][16]
In 2012, he launched Spreadsave.com, a deal-aggregation site.[17]
Fox has also been a Managing Partner at Alliance Building Services.[18]
A company Fox co-founded in 2003 later became GetCharged Inc. in 2019 and expanded from micromobility docking to broadband and EV charging infrastructure.[2] The firm supplied e-scooter and e-bike charging docks in cities including New York and Atlanta and placed hundreds of stations through partnerships with parking and retail sites.[19][20]
Fox joined the company’s board in 2020 and became chairman and CEO in 2021, when it rebranded as Charge Enterprises, Inc.[8][21] The company listed on Nasdaq in April 2022 under CRGE and announced plans to deploy chargers at U.S. dealerships. It operated Infrastructure and Telecommunications segments, covering broadband, electrical contracting and EV charging, plus carrier-grade telecom services.[22][23]
Fox resigned as chairman and CEO in August 2023.[24]
