Dagenham is an area of London, United Kingdom. It has been a part of Greater London since 1965. It is currently centred about 11 miles (19 kilometres) east of Charing Cross.
Dagenham was chosen as a location for industrial activity and is perhaps known for being the centre of the Ford Dagenham motor car plant, where the Ford sewing machinists strike of 1968 took place.
