Connester (/kəˈnɛstər/; pronunciation) is a business networking platform operated by Connester SB Global Tech Private Limited, an Indian company. The platform integrates professional profiles, service listings, job posts, freelance bookings, marketplace listings, and business pages into a unified interface.[1]

History

[edit]

Subeesh Bose founded Connester in Angamoozhy, a village in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. According to media sources, Subeesh Bose created the platform to address the digital visibility difficulties that skilled workers, freelancers, and small enterprises face outside of big cities. The goal was to combine many internet functions-networking, job search, freelancing discovery, and product/service visibility-into a single platform.[1][2]

Connester SB Global Tech Private Limited was established in May 2025. The company was later certified as a startup by the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM). The company was also officially recognized as a startup by India's Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) in July 2025. Certificate No. DIPP212512 was awarded under the Startup India program, validating its status as a recognized startup in the "Social Network" market.[3][4]

Features

[edit]

Networking and profiles

[edit]

Users can set up professional profiles, share updates, and interact with other people or organisations. The coverage mentions workers in several different local service and professional categories.[1]

Marketplace

[edit]

It provides a marketplace for users to post their products and services. The listings stay on the site, and interested buyers communicate with the seller through internal messaging. From what we've read, Connester does not take commissions for marketplace presence, which is highly unusual compared to other mainstream e-commerce websites.[1]

Marketplace is said to be beneficial for small sellers, local service providers, and self-employed individuals who would like an online presence without having to manage their own digital storefronts.[5][6]

Freelance module

[edit]

The freelance section on Connester is where gig workers and other independent service providers list their services and get inquiries. The coverage mentions its use by workers across a range of local service and professional categories.[7]

Jobs and hiring

[edit]

Employers can post job vacancies on the platform, and prospects can apply from there. According to media sources, the job module forms part of a wider cross-functional platform and is not a standalone job portal.[1]

Business pages and events

[edit]

Businesses and organizations can create pages to feature their services, hours of operation, contact information, etc. The portal also has options through which workshops, community gatherings, and other events can be promoted.[1]

Partnerships

[edit]

PayU will be utilised as a payment gateway for platform service transactions by Connester in 2025.[8]
