Boone Robbie Jenner (born June 15, 1993) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre. He currently plays for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL) and serves as their captain.

Jenner is a one-time NHL All-Star, being named one in 2024.

Before playing in the NHL, Jenner played four seasons with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He had a successful time with the Generals. He was named to the OHL’s first All-Rookie team, finishing the season with 19 goals and 30 assists.[1] The next season, he was chosen to play for Team Orr at the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.[2] In his third season with the Generals, the team named Jenner as their captain.[3]

He was drafted 37th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2011 NHL entry draft. On March 28, 2012, Jenner signed a three-year entry-level contract to join the Blue Jackets.[4] On October 4, Jenner made his NHL debut in a 4–3 loss against the Calgary Flames.[5] On October 17, he scored both his first and second goals against Carey Price in a 4–3 loss against the Montreal Canadiens. Both goals came on the power play[6] He helped the team qualify for the Stanley Cup playoffs. They went on to lose to the Metropolitan Division champion Pittsburgh Penguins four games to two.[7] Jenner went on to miss most of the next season after suffering many injuries and surgery which kept him out of action.[8][9]

On October 8, 2015, the Blue Jackets named Jenner as an alternate captain for the team.[10] On February 29, 2016, Jenner signed a two-year, $5.8 million contract to stay with the Blue Jackets.[11]

He again helped the team qualify for the Stanley Cup playoffs. They went on to lose to the Metropolitan Division champion Washington Capitals four games to two. Jenner and his line struggled to gain points in the series.[12] On July 5, 2018, Jenner signed a four-year, $15 million contract to stay with the Blue Jackets.[13] On March 12, 2019, he scored both his first career NHL hat-trick and 100th career NHL goal against Tuukka Rask in a 7–4 win against the Boston Bruins.[14]

He helped the Jackets qualify for the Stanley Cup playoffs. They were matched up against the Presidents' Trophy-winning Tampa Bay Lightning and were considered heavy underdogs coming into the series. The Blue Jackets went on to sweep the Lightning four games to zero. By doing this, they made NHL history since it was the first time a Presidents' Trophy winner was swept by an eighth seed. It was also the fifth time that a team with the best record in the regular season got swept in the first round and was the Blue Jackets' first playoff victory in franchise history.[15] It was considered one of the biggest upsets in NHL history.[16][17] They went on to lost in the second round to the Boston Bruins four games to two.[18]

On July 28, 2021, Jenner signed a four-year, $15 million contract to stay with the Blue Jackets.[19] On October 12, the Blue Jackets named Jenner as their next captain after they traded Nick Foligno to the Toronto Maple Leafs.[20]

On November 18, 2024, Jenner set a Blue Jackets record after playing in his 675th career game, passing Rick Nash and becoming the all-time leader in games played.[21]
