Traditional German architecture in Blumenau

Blumenau is a city of the Santa Catarina state, in Brazil, with 363,340 inhabitants. It is 130 km from the state capital Florianópolis.

The city was founded on September 2, 1850, by German chemist and pharmacist Hermann Blumenau along with seventeen other German immigrants, and is famous for its traditional German architecture and cultural heritage, including the second largest Oktoberfest in the world
