August Macke (3 January 1887 – 26 September 1914) was a German painter. He was one of the leading members of the expressionist art group Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider). He was influenced in his work by other styles of the time, like cubism and orphism He was killed in action at the beginning of the First World War.[1]
