Aston is an inner city area of Birmingham.

History

Aston was first mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086.^[2] It was originally governed by its own council until it part of Birmingham in 1911.^[3] After World War II, the south of Aston was redeveloped into a new area called Newtown. ^[source?]
